I have found several people in the midlands who offer this service but no one down south. My local vets want £75 +vat for the pleasure and would like to find someone a little more reasonable!!!

In Berkshire but happy to drive.

That price is what my vet charges in Bristol.
Life is too short to worry about muddy pawprints.....

indeed.. but there is a company which that is all they do based in Derby which do it for £15 and can travel... however at £1 a mile to my house may get expensive.

There is someone in Berkshire but not sure if they'd be willing to scan dogs.
Might be worth contacting them?

However there is one person on the list that does scan dogs too
Mrs Samantha Wilkinson, she scans at Wey Farm Kennels Nr Guildford on I think it's a tuesday.
She will come to your home for extra fuel money. I had her do my bitch twice and it cost £150 for the two times
for her to come to my home (Berkshire). This was 2 1/4 years ago. However if you go to the Wey Farm Kennels it is cheaper.
Not sure what her prices are now though.
She was spot on with numbers. We had the bitch scanned twice as she advised that she thought the bitch was losing puppies
and to get her a course of antibiotics. Which we did and she only lost one that Samantha saw on the first scan.
Which is why we were also able to save the last pup and got the bitch a c-section after she had shut down, seemingly finished.
My own vets scanned again to make sure..and there the pup was.

Eastleigh is only 50 mins down the M3 so perfectly acceptable.
I am based in Bracknell, Berks.

I have no problem paying fees but i think sometimes vets take advantage of people wanting to know and put a massive mark up on a service which doesnt need to be that much.

Sorry to hear your not having pups, I am now on the 4 week wait to find out if everything took. fingers crossed.  :-)

Sam Wilkinson  is brilliant, has scanned acuratly every time and told me from which mating so the due date is easier to work out!
She has got a litter of 2 spot on and a litter of 14, cant praise her enough and well worth the money! ( I tend to travel to her place near Bedford)

Think it's Wednesday afternoon Sam scans at Wey Farm, K., but I have her mobile number if anyone needs it.

I'd have no trouble paying vet's charges if they were anywhere near as accurate as the likes of Sam, who is far cheaper.
