Hi iam new to this so here goes I have a giant breed maiden bitch who on day  9 11 of her season showed no interest in  stud and he was kinda take it or leave to Met him again on day 13 and he jumped on her before we got in the gate the diffrence a day makes lol Anyway she was not keen infact nasty with him so we tried again day 15  and eventually we got a good tie While i was there i managed to have  ablood test done and sent of to idex I received a call from the vets folling day to tell me that she had ovulated but between day 10 and 12 So my problem is i am now on day 19 0f the season and she is acting really strange yesterday and today she was sick in the morning then falling asleep at the drop of a hat Next minute she is bouncing around again So my 2 questions can she of got caught with the time delay and also how quickly do dogs show symptoms Thanks for the earlier replys x

If she ovulated day 10 - 12 then she would have had viable eggs until days 14 - 16, so as with the previous example a good chance she will take.

A lot of dogs and bitches will not mate until the eggs are rip or almost going over, so the Vet may say mate at ovulation, and they would take if willing with sperm lasting at least 4 days, but many won't be wiling that early.  Others will happily stand from a day or so before ovulation until the eggs have died which is why many will stand for nearly a week.

The answer to your question is yes, she can very well have
taken. The eggs need two days to ripen, after ovulation, before they
can be fertilized. And, the eggs then can live for two-three days, even four, before they are
too old.  There is a chance you'll get more male pups, than females, though.

On day 19 of her season, it's far, far too early to get any sympthoms of pregnancy.
The nausea will set in, if it does at all, about three weeks after the mating. That's when the eggs
fixate to the wall of the uterus.
Any signs of not being well this early, are not normal. There is always
the risk of infection, and if in any doubt, I'd take her to the vet for a check up.
