A colleague at work told me the other day.
When she was visiting her daughter she was shocked to see a small white terrier (maybe JR) walk past her patio doors...the mum said what the heck have you got a dog? the daughter then explained that a friend has 2 dogs, one 10 months old and this other one...now as this one is pregnant she has started going for the younger one so they asked the daughter to look after her..the mum asked why is she outside, the daughter says oh they live outside and they smell so I'm keeping her in the shed! The mum is a devoted dog lover and was disgusted with this set up...as the daughter & husband are thinking of having one of the puppies!
I mentioned it would of been kinder to of asked them to look after the younger dog...the reason they had the pregnant one is the pregnant is doing the attacking and the 10 month old one is not trained. I thought well if there locked outside all the time there not going to be trained! The mum of the daughter had a go at her daughter about a dog being kept outside as the weather has been so cold lately, luckily it has warmed up some- but when we had that snow it was -5 some nights. shockingly sad. I told my work partner  that she will most probably lose all the puppies due to stress of being dumped into someone else's garden! She has only 4 weeks til due.
Her mother did say if there thinking of owning a dog, she said she will have stern words on how to care for a dog. I would love to contact the rspca but do not know the address!

Shaking head in disbelief. These are the kind of breeders we do not need, who mate a bitch, then pass her on to someone else to look after in a cold shed with no experience! Your right if there were problems you don't move out the pregnant one, she should be coming first, unfortunately the mothers daughter seems clueless too. Her mother did say if there thinking of owning a dog, she said she will have stern words on how to care for a dog The mother should be calling the RSPCA, animals can't speak for themselves, we have to do it for them.

The poor bitch, in situations like this I really don't care about the humans involved, I always put the bitch and the pups first, lucky someone didn't leave a pregnant bitch like this with me, the phrase 'in my care' I would use to the full extent of it's meaning, I would use it to pop her to the vets and have an injection done, that would be my way of caring for her. she's obviously in a home where she is not properly cared for and her pregnancy is treated as though it is unimportant.

Talk to the mother and see if she will do something about it, how can she just sit on her hands knowing the bitch is in a cold shed and away from it's home.  At least the RSPCA will give the poor bitch a warm place to deliver with people on hand who know what they are doing. (Well they will know more than the womans daughter or the owner at least, and properly vet good homes for any pups.)

Some bitches will have nothing to do with any other bitch (or dog) in the household from the moment they are mated, so the breeder must then ensure they have the facilities to keep them 100 % apart until the puppies are weaned. I have one such bitch myself. Once her pups were about 6 weeks old she was fine with the other dogs again. People really should think more carefully before breeding.
