can anyone explain why my 3yr old wolfhound all of a sudden is cocking his leg up the hoover
and in the hall This has only happened up to now 4 times The thing is he only does it when hes
been outside for a wee And its not just a quick spray its a good old puddle I have washed everything
down with bio washing powder every time its happened

I would suggest you remove it so its not possible for him to continue to do it.  He can prob still smell his urine on it and considers it his indoor lampost! To be honest it may be more complex than that without knowing more information but if its a particular object that he continues to wee on, if its no longer there, he cant 'use' it anymore can he??. If he wees on it when its in use then I would remove him from the area until you are finished so this behaviour does not become the norm.

Barking mad is right.  When you get unwanted behaviour, it is a good idea to remove what is causing it.  I agree we can't see what the actual thing is that has started it.  But, if it's not around, he can't continue.

I'm a bit late but I thought you might enjoy a funny story.  When I bragged to my sister about my dog coming on the run to be hoovered (we call it vacuumed) she countered with how handy it was for her to keep her boy out of a newly painted room by placing the thing in the doorway.  He was afraid of the vacuum and the paint dried with not a dog hair in it.  Some time later her vacuum would not work.  In to the repair man who looked at her funny and told her it had gotten all wet inside and was rusted and seized.  Sis is pretty sure nobody used it to clean up water.  That leaves the dog as the main suspect.  We think he got his revenge by peeing on it.
