my bitch was mated 18 days ago and she  keeps licking her vulva she has licked it that much the crease on her rear leg has gone sore any ideas why she is doing this is great.

I wonder if she may have an infection?   Might be worth asking your vet to do a swab test just to make sure nothing is there that shouldnt be!

Its a good idea just to get her checked out , most bitches do clean more anyway as far as i know................ but my girl was doing the same and ended up on anti biotics for a couple of days ( just to be safe because she had some discharge ) , my girl had been mated 16 days earlier .
better safe than sorry :0)

i will ring the vets tommorrow, there is no discharge or any bad smell, thanks
