My dear little Keya - gone so quickly. Full of beans at the weekend, bright and cheerful on Monday morning but had been sick and was obviously feeling very sorry for herself when I came home at lunchtime. A quick trip to the vet who wanted to keep her in and put her on a drip as she was dehydrated. I phoned to see how she was this morning, hoping to be bringing her home at lunchtime only to be told she'd just died. She'd been bright enough during the night when she was checked on, drip replaced at 1 ish, but was dead when the vet returned from an emergency visit. We're devastated and awaiting the results of a pm, though pancreatitis is suspected.

She will be ever remembered as a sweet soul, loving her "pups" that are still here, now aged nearly 8, and for the great pleasure she got from pulling the tissues from my pockets and shredding them, greeting those she loved with her own "woo woo" noises, rubbing herself in ecstasy in people's armpits and enjoying rolling in the laundry pile. A special girl ...

Pancreatitis has just been confirmed after pm and blood test results received. There was nothing more we could have done. At least I know it isn't something that could affect my other dogs - something I was worrying about.

I can't believe she's gone, it was all so fast. A blessing I suppose in some ways, but such a shock. I have to keep myself together as I don't want to upset my other dogs.

She was such a sweet little girl. I got her at 6 months - she'd spent the majority of her life up til then in kennels, due to illness in her previous owners' family. She was just so appreciative of her life with us and was always such a happy little soul. She adored my partner and spent her evenings lying on top of him as he sprawled on the sofa. We're all going to miss her so much ...

We know what you are going through, we lost our male to torsion last May, he went so quick, only 5 and a half, you just dont expect it, i too was paranoid with my other dogs still am, hugz to you both x

Although I've had 2 dogs with pancreatitis, I've never lost one with it.  What a shock for you.  I am so very sorry.  Keya sounds so special.  Run free sweet girl.
