the last few years I have been given passes to get in but this year it looks as I will have to actually PAY for tickets Sob, Sob. I know that tickets are advertised at £13 each.  I have seen adverts for 'book in advance and save' but the 'ticket factory' - who seem to be the only source of tickets - make a booking & transaction charge for buying tickets.
being the tight fist that I am, I was wondering if anyone knew how much you save on advance tickets and if this is more than the booking charge, or is it cheaper to stand in the queue on the day.

Prices on the door are "yet TBC" according to the KC, TBH you will probably only save a few pence by advance booking seeing as the charge 90p booking fee AND £1.70 transaction fee! If you are a KC affiliate member then you get an extra 10% off.

You can go through the steps to get tickets (shopping cart) without actually proceeding to the payment screen.  This shows a booking fee of 65p per ticket, and only one transaction fee of £1.70

It's expensive isn't it?  The only real advantage might be that you won't have to queue for tickets at the door - several years ago we had to wait ages to buy tickets.

I looked at Ticket Factory & they charge 90 pence booking fee & cant remember the transaction charge but for 3 tickets of £39 it was going to be almost £44. I have decided just to pay on the day now. Note to self...if not entering next year ask a friend who is exhibiting to order me a ticket...green edged one lol

Hmmmm just realised I priced childs tickets! Booking fees:

65p each on kids/OAP/Students tickets
90p each on adult tickets
£1.80 on the family ticket

In order to make buying this way cost effective it needs to be considerably cheaper than on the door...

Do you know anyone who stewards there that you could butter up Last year no complimentary tickets sent, this year we had 3 included (all spoken for I'm afraid!) Failing that I believe KC members often get given some.
I'm saving my pennies for a few cups of coffee.

You could always wait until the day, we have been really lucky on a few occasions whilst waiting to buy tickets we have been given free passes in by people that have had a spare ones not being used and they have not wanted anything for them.

Also another year we were given passes in by somebody who had a stall with some spare passes.

On both occasions we didnt have to wait until the show opened to the public so made the most of the quieter time to have a good look around.

Quite often people are outside with spare tickets and are more than happy to give them up.

Just the luck of the draw if you are in the right place at the right time.

I've just splashed out on BIS tickets, as my American friends wanted to go back again on Sunday for more shopping. Hubby even decided he wanted to come along - hope he isn't going to moan and whinge about being tired, as he's really not into shows! But my friends are VERY excited - me too!! £33 each but at least it does include general entry too.
