Really random thread but i thought i would share it with you.

Before getting my little pug puppy i was really down and bored and at a loose end at nights not to sure what to do in my spare time as my partner had a shift change and works the complete opposite from me.

He came up with the idea of getting a new dog (our last dog got put down a year ago) I was taken back as he said he never wanted another dog. I was over the moon. So we got in touch with a few breeders of the breed we wanted to get and the pug came out on tops.

Ever since little Angus has come home i have felt much better in myself, i cant wait to get work finished so i can get home and be with him. I just love his company hes so funny hes like a little clown (even if he does have a taste for my fingers!) I couldnt imagine angus not being part of the family now. Even my partner is in love with him, its like a son hes never had! Its really sweet, cause hes never really been a 'animal lover' everything he does, angus always comes first!

Sorry really random but i just thought i would share my happy feelings!

does anyone else get like this?!

That is so lovely...they do bring us such happiness don't they.

I love to see the waggy bottom (Docked tail sadly) meeting me at the door although i'm sure she is more interested in the food in the shopping bags than me myself lol
Never judge by looks or others opinions....find out for yourself.

Yeh it's great, nothing better coming home to a happy face that wants lots of kisses and cuddles! They cheer your day up no matter how bad it's been.

It's strange though I have always felt that if your upset they can sense that and there really gentle and even more affectionate than normal.

Where would we be without our dogs eh?

I know what you mean I have hardly been without a dog for the past 20 years , our latest additon has been a complete surprise to me she is a toy breed and not my choice my daughters I have always gone for bigger dogs ,gsd, flatties. This little one has really stolen my heart infact all of us she is so responsive and fun to watch and loves being with you not say my others dont it is just different. Think I will have a toy breed now as well as big one, they really do cheer you up

Yeh im the same i have always had labs anf GS x etc.

The other day me and my man fell out over something silly and Angus thought he would take it upon himself and start doing the 'pug run' around and around the house, he was totally sprinting with his tail stretched out and his ears flapping in the wind, its was so fuuny we both couldnt stop laughing at him, which then made us both start speaking to each other again! Hes so funny.

They are certainly the best medicine, we are always smiling at laughing at their antics, they "make you do things" ie walking etc, then when you are out with them you feel so much better.
They are very intuitive about your moods etc, when I was off work years ago suffering depression my lovely girl really helped me and when she was taken from us far too early I was devastated.

Glad you are enjoying your new found friend.

Yes me, I spend ages chatting to the dogs when my OH works late. We both end up cramed on the sofa with a cocker and collie despite my OH swearing we would not have "lap dogs". They make youi smile and when you look into those big eyes you do not see judgement even if you look like you have been dragged through a hedge backwards, yo see unconditional love.

What is there not to agree with in your post, you are as lost as the rest of us, welcome!!

I have really not had a dog that is so sensitive to things. Last night my son got upset because he had discovered that he had lost some money probably stolen from his pocket as it turned out. He was as you can imagine shouting at the world in general. Little one took one look at him and the raised voice ,tail went down and she ran into the lounge and jumped on my lap for a cuddle hiding her head. Soon stopped him shouting he had to come and cuddle her to apologise. Meanwhile the big boy just looked at everything and went back to sleep !
I dont mind being lost if I can have my furry ones
Oh yes and I know the pug run in this house its the mias gone mad charging about the house under chairs and upand down stairs. Suppose its just as well she is so little if he did the same at 40kg we wouldn't have a house left
