Stanley (whippet) has cocked his leg at 16 1/2 wks old. He is now Stan the Man! Seriously he seems young, my GSD was 11 months old, perhaps he has been teaching Stanley, do they copy or is it all down to hormones? I posted on another forum & someone else posted a picture of a pup of hers cocking at 9 1/2 weeks, is this a record?

Same as Harley.  I have a large breed dog, 5 years old in August, and he squats.

Some dogs (especially castrated ones) never cock. My boys cocked at 5 months and 7 months.

One of mine is 4 next month and has just started cocking his leg!!

Mine did at 8 months, I was so proud! 16 weeks does seem very young!

LOL, my dog is nearly 3 yrs old and squats like a girlie part of the time and stands the rest of the time for a wee. He's such a lazy dog! He did cock his leg ONCE, I think he was about 18mnths old, but never again since (he's entire).

My boy started cocking at about 5 months so young but not quite as young as yours! He was a bit overenthusiastic the first time though and keeled over sideways

I would probably be more willing to own a male if they didn't cock their legs, LOL, it is a real negative for me and will ensure I dodn't have any males living here if I can help it.

My JRT was cocking his leg full time by 4months old.  I have never had one do it that young before.

Our first male Rottie cocked his leg and 9 weeks and continued to do so.  My now male Rottie first cocked his leg at 9 months - I was quite proud of him lol!  At home he will quite often just stand their and wee.  My Akita bitch cocks her leg quite often too!

My standard poodle cocked his leg at ten weeks but would only do it on "his" stone in the garden. Was about 6 month before cocking on walks.

My gsd male 1st cocked his leg around 11 months old but fell over and made a right meal of it! He sometimes squats and wee's on his front leg....bless him.  Luckily we have a stream near our house so he get a wee wash on the way home if he does miss!

My Irish boy was 10 weeks when he started, was a nightmare because he wasnt fully house trained so instead of doing puddles on the floor he would cock his leg up the sofa

I wish my 12 month OES would cock.  All that wee down the inside of his front legs and on his belly is a nightmare.  Occasionally he will cock his leg in mid air (not against anything)  but more often than not he squats.  Other male OES is just the same.

My dog who does cock his leg is also know as p***y legs Alf !!  He always manages to pee down his hind legs, on his tummy feathering and sometimes on his front legs, he does a very lazy cock and usually carries on walking mid pee
