Has anyone tried the lava rocks and do they work?

rake it out and re-seed then throw water on the pee straight after .

Have used rocks in the summer but not sure if they are the same.My grass is fenced and gated with seperate dog area once they have 'been' I let them on the grass.

just one of the joys of having dogs i'm afraid. i have three dogs and really there is little point trying to catch every wee with some water to stop the grass going yellow.
you either need a very big garden a different place for them to wee, mind you you can teach them to toilet in the same place in the garden.

Mine naturally does his wee in the same place in the garden, I have no yellow patch of grass there - I have a mud patch :-D Thanks to the fact he enjoys 'scratting' the ground after a wee, I have hardly any grass left atall.......
I'll need to re-seed my 'lawn' AGAIN in the spring!

Is it ammonia that causes it? We've never had any burn on the grass. Will be interested in this thread, not something we've ever had to treat. Be good to know if I do one day

I don't think there's anything you can really do to stop it burning the grass.

My dogs have always had their own 'patch', which is bark chippings and they're taught to use that area for toileting. Makes it easier to clear up after them too. I don't fence it off though.

I've always found it to be a bitch's wee that turns the grass yellow!

When my dogs have weed on the grass it has the same effect as the bitches' wee.

I heard a table spoon of tomato paste a day stops the burning.  I've never tried it though as I already add fish, veg, eggs and garlic oil (in the summer), tomato paste as well seems a bit much!

Just thought I'd ask as I have wasted pounds and pounds on things for the dogs over the years that don't work. Not many people tried these then? Hey Ho, I've also seen some tablets called Greenums that are supposed to do the same thing, don't know whats in them so I thought I might try the rocks first, worth a try  £10.00, what's a bit more.
