I don't know but prices of it have gone through the roof. I think they are saying its the import tax or costs that have caused price increase
Tanya <3 Leonbergers

I know, i saw on the internet one site was £65 a bag, its a lot of money with 9 gsd's to feed, i like the look of it very much.

zooplus is a good one or just do a search on the net. Also it is sold on ebay quite often and normally cheaper than alot of places.
Berriewoods if you buy a few bags at a time

Berriewoods usually comes up cheapest for me. I buy 3 bags at a time and always have a scout about each time to see where is cheapest.
The artist formerly known as cheekychow! - with a staffy and a rottie not a chow, but very cheeky!

Thanx guys will have a look

Sometimes zooplus if they have the double pack in as delivery is free. Otherwise I buy mine from Berriewoods.
Another day, another lesson learned

Why not join the breeders club.

The breeders club was working out cheaper for me when i got it than berriewoods..

I started my puppy on this food 2 weeks ago. I started very gradually just giving treats etc then mixing it in with his food.
It really didnt suit him and he had bad case of the runs (think chocolate spread) and he vomited a few times, AND his itchyness got even worse.
I moved him onto it as his coat was scruffy and he was itchy on RC. So then i had to find another food. I was told burns is good for itchyness and good for condition. Hes been on it for 4 days now and hes so much better! His poo is normal and his itchyness has gone!
Finally a food he and i am happy with!
fingers crossed.

But Pet planet have a good deal i think?

Oh no, this is why im trying to find a food for 1 female, we found out she had vit B12 deficiency, had her on low dose antibiotics, B12 jabs weekly at 1st, to get the levels back up, then monthly, and hills ID to feed, all was great, reduced the antibiotics slowly from 3x daily, to 1x daily, then none, all was great until 2 days ago, now she is pooing like water again, vet gave her antibiotics again and we now monitor her, it is so frustrating as she starts to loose weight when like this, her coat doesnt look nice now neither, our vet seems very keen on the orijen, but says we musnt change her food until she is firm again, she is currently on Red mills, Leader sensitive.

alot of people might not like it, but Burns has took an amazing effect on my dog. His itching has gone and hes filled out nicely over the 4/5 days his wee tummy doesnt look so thin anymore and hes such a happier boy.
Orijen really really gave him the runs, and he was a sick a couple of times, he wasnt even on the full amount just gradually giving him a little every day. Poor things eyes about popped out his sockets when he done the toilet its came out at such force ;-(

I'd give the Orijen a go, and as someone else mentioned join up to their Breeders Scheme.
A friend of mine had tried practically every food on the market, including prescription diet from the Vets, yet still had a dog with almost constant diarhhoea and no condition at all. She tried the Orijen and hasn't looked back, although did say it took a few weeks before her poo was back to something resembling normal. I wonder if they go through a sort of detox and settle after a number of weeks?
One Golden is never enough! One Dobermann is more than enough!

Makes you wonder doesnt it? the hills ID (dry) suited her at 1st then she went very loose again, thanx guys will try the orijen once she has firmed up, back on anti biotics and jabs, so few days she be ok again, then can get her on something that will improve her, will try the fish 1 vet recommends.

Hi
I was going to try my itchy 5mth old Leonberger on this and after searching on the internet found petplanet to be one of the cheapest.
I got a 13.5kg bag of puppy large breed from Pet planet for £53.99 with free delivery.
Still in the garage though as vet advised not to change food yet

Just to let you know that changing from RC ro Orijen as my 5 month old puppy was itchy was the worse move ever, he went SO itchy even more than before and was biting his body and walking along like elvis doing the hip thing trying to scratch his back with his back paws.
Poor puppy.
but i suppose everyone is different.

It sounds to me it is more likely to be an allergy to one of the ingredients, to get such a severe reaction. Which varieties of the RC and Orijen did you use?
One Golden is never enough! One Dobermann is more than enough!

Can I be cheeky and ask how much it cost you on the Breeder's scheme? I really like the look off this food (for my dogs, not me

), but can't believe how pricey it is!!!

He was on mini puppy RC and puppy Orijen.
Hes now on puppy burns and hes not itching and seems much happier in his little self.

Is there anything in the RC and Orijen that isn't in the Burns?
One Golden is never enough! One Dobermann is more than enough!

Im not to sure, i havnt looked, i just got told to try him on burns as its not as 'heavy' as Orijen and within 2 days he has stopped itching and his poo is normal, and he is now back to his normal bouncing about the house.
when i get a minute im going to have to sit down and compare them, as there was defo something in it which didnt agree with him, I love the look of Orijen, but its put me off ever trying him on it ever again. He really wasnt right.

I've just done a quick search and wonder if it is the egg that is the problem? Both Orijen and RC appear to have egg but Burns doesn't.

last price list I had quoted ::
Puppy - 45.89 & Adult - 44.19
Adult 6fish - 55.24
Adult regional red - 61.19

Also worth checking how much you need to feed, I feed much less Orijen than I did Royal Canin so works out less per feed than you may think.
I swopped my young BC bitch onto Orijen last year (I dabbled with raw but was useless at getting organised so they just get two meals a week raw mince) as it was the only complete that she would eat with some gusto rather than kibble by kibble as if she was eating cardboard. She looks fantastic on it and I love the ingredients in it. My older WSD it doesnt agree with and gives him the runs so he is sticking with AG.
Like anything in life different things suit different dogs.

Thanks for this,
He gets an egg once a week with no runs the next day so i dont think its that. I think it might have just been to rich for him? He never had the runs on RC just itchy itchy.
Day 6 of the Burns and hes still not itching!
I gave him a bath at the weekend with Exmarid and what a result it gave him instant relief. If anyone needs a shampoo for itching use that!
(altho it does stink)
