PS: How, exactly, do you neuter a Henry? Remove its nozzle?
Or are they like snails - hermaphrodites? When left alone they.... err.... connect nozzle to inlet and inlet to nozzle....?
And I still don't know what a Henry Hound is, maybe if it's not KC reg then nobody knows?

I have a theory that some people just 'kill' vacuums My MIL never had one that lasted more than 2 years - all sorts of different makes. They all broke down

This was actual point of sale cards on the shelf saying what they were and werent suitable for, to be honest there werent many that said they were suitable for pet owners.

J/G, when I worked for Shelter someone donated a Dyson and I took it home to use and didn't think much of it then - older model.   We had a Henry that we used in the shop and it was brilliant.   My mum bought this O4 (That I now have) and has had no end of problems with the belt.   My sister also bought one at the same time and threw it away as it was rubbish, she now has a Henry.     It is Henry's, Jenny uses in the cattery to clean up the sawdust (Litter) so I think Henry gets a bigger thumbs up than Dyson could ever hope for! 

The Henry I used in a previous job was rubbish - and that was just in an office! Its only advantage was its very long cable. The Dyson I use now is far more efficient; and my mother still uses her original 01 - goodness knows how old it is now, and it's never gone wrong! I guess it's all a matter of personal expectation and experience.

I love my Dyson.  Only had it for almost 3 years so far but wouldn't part with it - dog hair and all!  My daughter's is 8 years old and still great.  Long may they continue to do so.

They are the upright models.  I can't be doing with cylinder vacuums where you have to push and put your back into them...

I believe you are right! Some people do seem to go through vacumes, but then again a lot of vacumes don't get looked after i.e cleaned out enough and some can't cope with the hairs, now I've had my Dyson Animal (purple one) for years does a fantastic job, I don't think I would change it for anything else.

Dysons are a great design but poorly made, bought a VAX pet upright and yes its heavy and noisy but it does the job. Two large dogs and it frightening how much it picks up - just wish the dogs would allow me to brush them with one of the attachments - only joking

Mine do - it's not too difficult to train them to accept it.
