Just wondering what ideas people have for a Mothers Day present. I am going alone on Thursday to Crufts so should be able to find something 'doggy' for her.

An idea I had was an ornament of our new breed as we have nice ones of the old breed. Which companies do good statue ornaments?

Open to any other suggestions though.....HELP PLEASE!

I got my mum a nice broach one year at Crufts.  Last year I got her a set of towels with her breed embroidered on them (boring I know but one runs out of ideas eek )
Hit goal weight back in May .... could still do with losing a bit more though !!

Some people you just 'know' others you'd have to ask and not all Mothers are the same - 'ones womans treasure is another womans trash' (to borrow a phrase!).  I strongly suspect I'm peculiar in my tastes...

One thing though that can be really helpful is to have a look at some of the companies that are going to be there and plan your shopping walk.  Several years I've noticed something interesting, but by the time I've wandered round a few halls I couldn't remember what it was - let alone where it was.  The Dog papers publish lists of companies, with descriptions of their products, and maps of the halls which are well worth taking with you.

Also take some decent bags if you plan to get some serious blag.  The cheap plastic ones will cut off your circulation long before lunchtime if you pick up a few free food samples :-)

**Happy shopping to all**

Yep definately think it will be heavy shopping this year, finally need to pluck up the courage to spend a small fortune on a blaster! I think ill need the ornament to balance me out!

So which are the good ornament companies so I can google them first - some look really tacky and fake but I want a good representation of the breed one.

Don't know if they fit your budget or do your breed (although they don't just do dogs), but I always think there's nothing to touch the Griffiths brothers for animal sculptures.

www.vicandtimsculptures.com They do some really nice ornaments and they have been known to paint the finished item to look like your own dog.

We are also going on thursday to crufts, I have had some lovely mothers day gifts from crufts. From the scarfs, cushion covers, place mats, handbags, and lovely Samoyed prints, you can have the dog painted onto a plate mug, statues of the breed, I have had a brass door knocker with a samoyed on, lovely!
Infact one of my daughters, that is also coming with us, is going to do the same, to see if there is anything I may like.
Don't forget to take a photo of the dog in question, as you may need it.

ha ha yes agree dogs a babe, my mum would not be v impressed if i bought her toiletries or flowers anything like that, she'd much prefer tickets to a horse event or spending a day at a crufts together!
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.
