Does anyone know?  My daughter has entered to 6-11 years YKC handling with her cocker but she has come in season early.  cant believe it 2 months early, can she change dog now?

4 years ago now i had to change my dog on the day and went to the ykc desk, explained and they let me change my dog to another in the breed. This could of changed but then it was no problem.

Hi, thanks for the reply, managed to post on the ykc facebook page and received a reply.  yes we can change just need to ring them tomorrow.  Shame as her girl works so well for her and the young lab could provide a challenge be she will have to put in some training to get him ready but its better than not going at all.

As far as I know, provided that the dog has been entered in the show, she can handle any dog.  My daughter has substituted her cocker for a pointer on a few occasions.

We have a YKC Handling class on the 7th March and the rules say "Exhibitors may handle any dog provided it is fully registered on the KC breed register and eligible to be exhibited at KC Licensed events.  This is a handling class. Dogs MUST have been entered and exhibited in a previous class"

Not sure if it's Crufts you are refering to, could be a different rule there.

I too have changed dog on the day quite a few times due to classes clashing or bitches in season or lameness etc

They just get to you fill in a new commentry card about the new dog but other than that its pretty painless.
