This is going to seem like quite a random post, but after beeing quite shocked at what i saw this morining im just wondering if anyone has any idea as to what it was i saw. I know it will probably be difficult from my desription but lets see.

I was walking my three this morning, when we walked past a well built man walking his 'dog' the description of the animal is this:
German shepherd size (maybe slightly taller)
Small head, compared to body size.
Very fluffy looking sand coloured hair with 'blue' flecks.
The dog was totally bald on its sides, but had 'blue' skin.
It was covered on neck and hind quarters and front legs, couldn't really see its tail.

Sorry for the poor description, but i really have never seen anything like it before, and its intriguing me. Any ideas what it could be?

At first glance i thought it was a hyena (stupid i know).
We were road walking to field so couldn't really ask the owner, the man didn't seem very approachable anyway.

Bald patches may have been caused by Seasonal Flank Alopecia

This may well have been the case, however it was as if it was meant to be, as it was so neat and the skin looked liked that of a mexican hairless or crested.

The only type of dog i can compare it to is an African wild dog, which is bizzare.

Skin pigment is spot on, but what i saw today had hair covering its legs and back, and was much larger.

I guess i'll never no unless we bump into it again, and i ask the owner.

Could it have been shaved for any reason, do you think? (i.e. if it had had an accident or major surgery).
Can you tell I'm just as flummoxed! But you never know these days, it could be some new cross like a Chinese Croodle!

Wd think maybe a GSD with something wrong with it.
If I wanted a Poodle, OES, TT or IWS I would have bought one. SWD's shd. be natural and rustic. No

Im pretty sure it was not a GS, its head and muzzle were far too small.

The way its hair was looked naturally occuring, of course i could be completly wrong. It was most deffinatley the strangest looking dog i have ever seen. Thanks for the suggestions anyway. It will have to remain a mystery  . . . . . . for now.

Well god forbid, but that sounds like a Belgian Shepherd Tervueren after an accident with a lawnmower.
(Who knows where this current fashion for crossbreeding is going to lead....lol)
