Hi,

Doggies need worming and I went to buy some online.
I searched for Panacur 10% and came across 1 litre bottle but it says it is for cattle, sheep, horses...
It costs £40 compared to the 100ml of dog panacur costing £14.50.
My doggies are over 50kg so one 100ml is not enough to cover both...
The active ingredient and amount of it looks like the same on both products = 1 ml contains 100 mg active ingredient fenbendazole.
It would be much more economical to buy the 1 litre bottle that would do the worming for a while, instead of 2 100ml bottles...

Would anybody know if these two are the same regardless of the animal it is listed for as the descriptions definitely look the same?
Do people with more dogs maybe buy the bigger bottles?

I would stick with the Panacur designed for dogs.
"How many"?!

Hi,
I use the Sheep and Cattle panacur for my dogs (7 of them!) on the advice of the seller in the Farmer's store where I buy. He looked up the correct dosage for me in the book they have for all wormers. (sorry can't remember the exact amount he said then as I was looking for an in whelp bitch at the time which was a lower rate,  I use the Cattle rate now for regular worming.)
I haven't asked the vet but in my view as long as you understand the different dosage rates for the 10% versus the 5% (that the pet stuff seemed to be) Then it is the same active ingredient and should be fine.
Obviously this is a personal choice, if  you're not happy then there's no reason not to give your vet a call and check. The difference in price is significant when worming 6x 30kg dogs......

It is the same and I have always bought it this way for many years now.

It's like a lot of stuff, when it is packaged for pets up goes the price, part of which is the packaging in smaller quantities.

Thanks everybody.
I did think it looks like the same product and as Brainess you say, price shoots up for many products when they are for dogs compared to for example horses/cattle so I thought maybe this is the case here as well...
nice little saving money wise and also packaging wise :-).
