Hi My bitch is 7 weeks pregnant or i think she is it was a slip mating and didnt manage to get a tie but its only the past few weeks she is off her food and covering it up all the time guarding her cage and going for the neuterd male and any of the other dogs if they go near her cage or food  her teats are pink but not red and they are prominant  with small swellings underneath  she has always been very active and very fit and mucular so its hard to feel anything and she is crying or barking for attention all the time if i leave the room but she is not putting lots of weight on yet do you think this sounds like she is in pup as her behaviour is so out of charackter but im sure she should be a lot heavier by now what do you think??

Sounds like she could be in whelp, could you get her scanned?

Got her sacnned on saturday  first of all the vet said here we go as i saw what looked like the first pup then my bitch wriggled and would not keep still and did not like it at all she got really stressed and although we kept trying we did not see anything after that except fluid !!! the vet said he thought she was either having one or two and hiding them or had reabsobed but he said what he could not understand is that her uterus was full of fluid ?? and he did not know why  he said it was not fluid like an infection or pyometra it was fluid that puppys are usually in ??? so i asked him should i treat her as if she is or isnt pregnant ? he said well if i were you i would treat her as not being in pup and put her back with my other dogs .  which i have done but she is still acting as if shes in pup going for the other dogs and nesting and wanting to hide away please help  with any advise

Could you not get a mobile scanner person out, she may be more relaxed at home, other than that i dont really know what to say.
