>There has to be a middle ground with all this - oh and the adverts drove us mad!!!

we sky+'d it so we could flick through the adverts ...... and the friends for life thingy eek
Hit goal weight back in May .... could still do with losing a bit more though !!

I Sky+'d it too and fast forwarded through the inane bits...that left me with about 30 minute of footage out of 4 shows! mad

Really, if More4 plan to televise Crufts again next year in the same format, I'd rather they didn't bother.  No coverage would be better than the bilge we were subjected to.  I'll pay fo the on-line coverage where I can actually see some dogs.

And another thing....(since I'm wingeing) ...I resent have pictures of sofas on my prize cards and rosettes...

LOL !!! ...I thought it was just me who thought this was a step too far ....I think it totally spoils the look of the rosettes to have cartoon sofas printed on them ...really REALLY naff !!

I've just had a look, & yes there is!  Have to say my rossette is not in a good state now though for a prized red one, it's falling apart & has a food stain on it :-(  Least BASC gave nice shiny trophies for class winners they sponsored.

Blimey LOL, I clearly didn't look at my rosette. So there is. I did notice the ones on the group and BIS rosettes and thought how naff it looked.

Yes they're horrible!  Really tacky looking compared to the original rosettes.  No Crufts logo on them just DFS Crufts and a sofa, I think they look cheaper as well.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.

>Yes they're horrible!

I was very pleased to be given one - they could have given me a plastic daffodil and I'd still have been thrilled!

My ones from last year are now out of sight in a box so it doesn't matter to me what they look like, I only care what it means to receive one :-)

personally scottish chappie was a pain and by the end of the first show I wished he would drop dead as he clearly didnt take it seriously at all.

I dont show but was surprised at how little it showed of showing, I am into agility and they showed very little of the big competitions and no obedience at all.  You wouldnt believe that obedience even existed!

I watched most of it online which I have to say was brilliant footage and well done.

Yeah, scottish chap was a pain. Vet was a bit daft though at least he did say he liked dog shows, they must have worked hard to find a vet who approved of dog showing! And he looked stupid in full scrubs. Clare as ever did her level best to report properly, but was rather handicapped by those idiots. Yet AGAIN there wasn't so much as a second of the obedience! Does anyone know if you can get it on iplayer or can anyone help out with a copy of the final day - series link didn't work on Sunday perhaps because it was a different length programme or something?? Overall it wasn't brilliant, but could have been worse.

I was on the Beagle Discover Dogs stand on Hound day when a lovely rep from the KC came over and asked if we would mind one of our dogs being shown on the More 4 programme as an introduction to the dogs of the Hound group. They wanted to show the difference in sizes. We gladly went over. Waited for ages for the producer and Scottish bloke to say that they were ready. I really didn't like the Scottish presenter at all. Not only did he keep fluffing his lines but he kept refering to my bitch as a he (You would have thought that after 3 or 4 takes he would have learnt that wouldn't you?). He just wasn't intrested in any of the dogs at all. Never even touched them to comment on coat, etc. When we were finally done I overheard him say 'Thank god that's over'. He never even said thank you to any of us either. The only thank you I recieved was from the KC rep. I had to go to the producer and ask if we were finished when she said thanks. All in all, I was rather disapointed by the presenters attitude.

How disappointing, and unprofessional of him. :-( When Harry and I met Philippa Forrester when we were doing Discover Dogs a few years ago she was very friendly and chatty, and seemed genuinely interested.

Did anybody record Sunday's program and could copy to dvd for me? Stupid sky+ box didn't record it, if I'd realised I'd have recorded the repeat on Monday :-(
Didn't even get to see it live as the hotel we were staying in didn't have Freeview.

Coverage might have been awful but I'd still like to see it!
By ceejay (***) [gb] Date 19.03.10 13:46 GMT
Agree - even fast forwarding to get rid of the incessant repeats didn't make it any more interesting.  No agility, no obediance - nothing that shows that keeping a dog is worth while.  No info on dog breeds - in fact when they were going through the dogs in the final group sections the commentator could hardly keep up with the camera.  It was the most utter pathetic rubbish which has been dumbed down to nothing.

> watch it online every evening from 6pm

Haven't had that option - no broadband for the last week.

Seems to be the concensus doesn't it.
Of all the presenters available to the production company, why choose someone who has no empathy with the subject matter, had no knowledge of it and appeared to actually dislike dogs ( or at least found them slightly odd) ?

Unless he was the producers brother - why pick him?

A bit like me presenting Match of the Day on FA cup final day....that would go down well, wouldn't it?
By LucyDogs (***) [gb] Date 19.03.10 15:38 GMT
Yes please me too, if anyone has it!
