Ive taken Whistler off to the groomers and our groomer breeds corgis' on sunday she had 5 puppies born I had a peep and there are three boys and two girles and I want one!!

I had not touched them as of course they are very tiny and germs ect but we just watched them for about 20 mins. Mum jumped on the side of the welping box for a fuss and Dad's son got a second at crufts yesterday. They are so lovely Im wondering if I keep my hands on my wallet or do I buy one that i may be able to show with my groomers help? Hilary's help.

Uncle Harry (corgi) was there and he keeps guard on mum and pups, Mum was at crufts last year, and should have been this year.

Hilary used to breed rotties and there are 4 there as well so i got dribbled on by Bosun (Dad age 10) Mum who is now 9 and two son's I was in my element! I got back to work dribbled on and hairy but knowing that with more time Im going to show and have more dogs.

Oh they are so tiny and sweet im in love, and they have tails!!!

One boy has two little black eyes!!  OH would be disgusted im considering having anotrher in a one bed flat.

it's always hard to resist puppies. i've got three dogs and my husband wouldn't be too happy if i got another one. mind you i don't think i could cope with more at the moment, even though i'd love to get another TT as there's a puppy at my training classes.
trying to be sensible and stick to what i've got but it's so hard to resist getting another but i don't think i could cope with taking four for a walk.

They do sound adorable but you need to ask yourself would you consider a corgi if there wasn't a litter of very cute puppies on your doorstep?! Puppies of any breed are gorgeous!

ahhh bear, who knows what the future holds for us all! I have three now, outraging many of my closer family members, but although I don't tell them this I couldn't care less. My sons have gradually given up berating me, and I may just go for a fourth in another couple of years. I didn't have dogs for 20 years while I was a single working parent and now I plan to spend my old age (at 53) doing all the things I didn't get a chance to do.

We always had A dog when I was at home, but it took me most of my life to realise that actually you could get more than 1 dog at a time...this is one of the most important lessons I've learned in 53 years and thank you Diesel, Jack and Bean xxx

I totally understand your itch to buy, who wouldn't have their heart turned to mush in seeing any breed of pup. I'm the biggest softy on the planet when it comes to any animals young, guilty as charged! But my well practiced trick is to focus on the adult only. Because that is what you get 12 months down the line, when cute pup with big eyes and waggy tail has grown up. (You know all of this of course, but just to remind you as you have been totally hoodwinked by that old puppy spell. )

But, if you can look at the adult dogs and happily walk out with one to go with your other dogs and know it fits in well and your happy with the breeder then you can move your eyes over to the pups again.

Then you just have to convince hubby that one night when he drank too much it was his idea to get another dog. Good luck with that one!

Otherwise, keep away from the groomer until all pups have gone, if your willpower has gone kaput, which it certainly sounds to have done.

Which is exactly what I did!  I am now spending my life exactly as I always wanted.  And I love the fact that I am doing what I want, and have a houseful of dogs.  Happy as a pig in clover! 

Ditto, JeanSW. Not to say that **** doesn't happen, but every day feels pretty much like Christmas to me (without the marathon stint in the kitchen). :0

Now this is weird I have not seen a corgi in ages, a neighbour used to have one a pembrooke called Toby....they now have GSD's which apparently are similar? never having either I cannot comment.

But I saw a Corgi on my way to the hospital on Tuesday. And I actually commented on it, because you don't see many.  

With regard to getting another pup.....no comment. I am not  a pup person I prefer adults, a friend of a neighbour has a litter of SBT pups and the family are all for getting one. Not me I am happy with my dog and the routine we have, she is only 7&1/2 and I am reaping the benefits of the work now.

So I would go play with pups when and while you can then walk away but it your call and best of luck.

I had a Pembroke Corgi in the 1990s and she was one of the best dog I have ever owned - intelligent, eager to please, not yappy and the only dog I ever showed. I almost got another last year after my Mini Schnauzer bitch died, but the breeder lost the littermate and decided to keep him.

I have not seen a Corgi near here for ages - although there is an old dog around me that looks like a Corgi cross, she has floppy ears, a long coat but a typical Corgi temperament.

Hi Whistler. I would just be interested to know are they pembroke or cardigan corgis.?

Now you have got me there small dark almost black and tri's so cardigan???

Carpets are a bad idea in total!! I agree Im 54 going on 55 very soon and coming close to dogs 3 & 4 WHEN we get a house built to put us all in.

Its a really really big hole today but Im hopeful will come out of the ground shortly.
