Hi, we have two maine coon cats and a bearded collie and I am looking at getting a blaster to prepare them for shows and help after the dog has had a bath. Can anyone recommend a suitable one that I could use on both the cats and the beardie.

Thanks natalie

I love my Megablast 2, I have cockers, but it may be too powerful for the cats, even on low speed it is quite powerful, depends whether they are used to it or not.

i've just bought the metro quickdraw blaster/dryer and i'm well impressed with it,it has dried the dogs in a matter of minutes,is reasonably quiet and although only has one setting,my lot havent been freaked by it at all, which i was amazed at considering theyve never been blasted.the unit is quite small in comparison to others and about one of the cheapest.having been round the crufts stands yesterday and seen some of the other choices i was glad with this choice as it is one of the less bulkier ones.
champagne for my real friends, real pain for my sham friends..

I would say look for a blaster/dryer combination. If you try and dry a long/drop coat with just a simple blaster 1. You will be there for a while, & 2. You will probably end up with a coat full of nasty whip knots which are a pain to get out. By getting one with heat and variable speed then you can alter it to suit the coat. I got a new one from Splendid Pets last year. About £275 -- the Pets Care one. I love it because I can use it on all breeds.
