Sorry this is a long one but just got this email from someone who had a puppy from my beautiful Bella nearly 2 years ago, its lovely and i just wanted to share it

First and foremost we are so sorry to hear about beautiful Bella so so sad really upset when we read about her passing. She was a lovely girl and you should be proud of the life she had she will always be remembered by all of us as a very special mum of DJ. XXXRIPXXX.

She would be very proud of her boy though as he has been a very very good boy. Pete's mum has some pictures on her camera i will send to you very soon. Any way the story i want to tell you is some what of a lovely one.

Pete was out walking with DJ one very cold and slippery morning in late February. Coming down the slight hill towards the allotments DJ was with Pete returning home from his favourite walk over the Fields. Coming down the hill you can see a long way in front and towards the un made road was walking a family, Husband , Wife and two lovely little girls. All of a sudden Pete heard a commotion of noise in the distance when a big old Staff/cross came from no where off the lead towards the two girls the dad lucky enough was close enough to shoo off the dog who had no owner in sight. With this the dog ran away across to the Right hand side of the fields and behind hedges and shrub's. Happy with this the family walked on and Pete carried on towards them, the girls decided now the road ended and the un made path began they would walk on a bit towards the end green fencing towards the end of the allotments. They were about 10 meters from Pete and DJ and Pete made DJ walk on the right of him on our big heavy duty extend able lead (never know if kids are afraid of dogs) they were also about 25 meters away from Mum and Dad just skipping and playing so no worries. All of a sudden from the left (we guess he circled round the back of where Pete and DJ had walked) the staff/cross appeared and headed full pelt towards the girls. Of course they panic ed and hurled themselves against the green fencing before any one could even think DJ ran (very fast for a big old dog) towards the girls and pushed himself against them and put himself in between the girls and the staff/cross. The staff/cross had a couple of attempts to get round towards the Girls but DJ was having none of it and on the third lunge he let the staff/cross jump and as the dog reached up and then went down DJ pinned him down by the neck although he did not puncture the skin he held him for a couple of seconds to let him know he was not going anywhere near the two young girls. This all happened rather quick as you can imagine and at the stage the DJ let him go the dog ran off with quite literally his tail between his legs!!!!!

Well to say the Mum and Dad were happy was an understatement. And the two girls were so over come they cuddled and shared there custard cream biscuits with DJ who was only more then happy to help them. The real shock was when there Mum made the statement they were petrified of dogs in general and that no way would she have ever thought the two girls would actually cuddle a dog let alone a Rottweiler (they are a dangerous dog apparently!!!!!!!!). The Dad was very clear on saying it is only how well the owners treat and train there dogs and was very pleased as he had always grown up with large dogs only to be told by his wife's dogs like Rotties / Dobermans etc are all the most dangerous think when they got home he did no let that one rest for while!!!!!

Me and Pete was so proud of DJ he had a lovely dinner as a treat that night.

In general he is doing very well he has a fit body like his dad but does have the identical cheeky smile like his beautiful Mum.

We are so happy with him you really do breed the best natured best looking Rotties we have ever had the privilege to own.
Love and kisses to you all

It made me very proud, and very emotional, a true testament to the great children she has left behind :-)

Fantastic story. Read it and went away from my computer to read in the Daily Express today of another Rottweiler chasing off a rapist while out on its walk with its owner. Rapist was in court and sentenced. Hope people read more of these stories and realise what a lovely breed they are.
You must be so proud.
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.

That's lovely, these are the stories that just don't make the tabloids - wouldn't sell many papers but sure brings a tear to my eye.  The spirit of Bella lives on xxx
The artist formerly known as cheekychow! - with a staffy and a rottie not a chow, but very cheeky!
