hi,
does anyone have any good ideas for a 'decorate a hard boiled easter egg' competion for my 2 daughters. i need ideas which they'll be able to help with, they are aged 7 & 4 years and we'd like something a bit different to everyone else. last year we made all of her class as boiled eggs, turned out great but took forever to make all 24 of them!!!!!!!!!!

how about doing an egg family? Mum, Dad, kids and a baby and not forgetting the family pets a dog and a cat? Thats six or seven characters, depending on how many kids you include.

Or pick a theme base it on climate change or responsible dog ownership make up a small training class, kids absorb ideas at this age, so it could be a useful way to teach them something useful at the same time.

My son had to do one so we did the set of the x factor but called it the eggs factor.

And we won

my son (now age 42!) had to do this in Primary school, he made -with some help - an eggscavator. as far as I can remember it wasn't too hard using stiff card and glue and I think, some pipe cleaners. you used to get them in JCB yellow.

I did an "Eggstravaganza" egg with my nephew when he was about that age - it was a bit Las Vegas show girl, painted the egg gold, madw it a cone to stand in from glittery card, stuck lots of beads and fake gems all over it, and did a plume of coloured feathers on the top - it was great fun to do and he did most the the work himself with just a bit of direction - he won the comp. with it:)
