Hi guys, looking for Black and Tan Coonhound breeders in England... have been doing some searching on internet ect but had no joy... any comments would be great, thanks x

Don't think Ive ever seen a Coonhound, Sam would be the one to ask possibly!

Don't think there are any, could be wrong as it is possible that one or more have been imported and are breeding but I have not heard of anyone who has them for sale - heard on the grape vine they are not for the faint hearted, very houndy hounds.

the nearest you will get are "tree walkers", there was a litter bred in uk a few year back but I dont think any since. if you want a true one then best to import from the states, although rather a drastic action for just a pet dog in my opinion. (mind you if you go to a rogue BH breeder youll get something that looks the same)

Much what I thought Sam, perhaps a Hamilton would appeal. One is never sure when someone wants an unavailable breed what it is that is wanted, if you knew you could make suggestions as to something that is available that would suit the requirements, as it is unlikely to be to hunt raccoons you need to be told.

Maybe its for skunks - aren't there a number running wild at the moment in S England?

I thought we might have them living in our house, but I have had to conclude reluctantly that the evidence suggests it's only the effect of my sons aged 19 and 22. All that bloody spraying about they do, I wish the skunks would move in.
