Hello all,

I've been looking for a Huntaway as a pet on the web, all the sites are either old or not in the UK (which is where I'm based despite the german flag on the post). Can anyone suggest a breeder or anyone know of any up-coming litters?

I've also been scanning the farming press but no joy...

Here's hoping!

They seem to come into rescue now & again, so there must be someone breeding them!

There's one on Dogsblog but I'm not convinced it's the genuine article:

Acquiring a dog may be the only opportunity a human ever has to choose a relative.

That was quick, how on earth...?

I think you might be right though that post, although there is variance with the breed all the ones I have seen have been black and tan or a variation.

Note of caution, Kaspersky blocked a trojan virus when I clicked on that link.

Ah yes.... Dogsblog have had an issue on & off lately - some days its safe - some days it comes up as dodgy.... My apologies, if I'd got the warning today I wouldn't have posted the link. I don't know what the issue is or whether its safe or not but it seems so random that I would guess there's no real threat.

I'm sure someone not that long ago was posting on here about them. Have you done a search on Huntaway's on this site to see what comes up?

I believe someone in West Sussex has been breeding them, I will try and find out more details as we had one come to puppy training classes recently.

Sam,

Would be very gratefull if you could pass on those details to me about the N Devon breeder.

I've emailed kiwi shepherd UK but the adress seems to have expired

Huntaway club similarly seems to be an old page.

So far:

Huntawayclub.co.uk - no response
Kiwishepherduk - no response
Ad from the Farmer's press - old
Username "Maggie McCall" no answer (although they might just have been out)

Luckily Sam has come up with another contact, I'll try them next

Keep on trucking...
