Meet a lady on a walk with a mutt and a many tears Cavvie, what a lovely dog.
She had her about 5 months and said it was like having a five year old puppy. Poor darling had 8 litters!! and is getting her figure back a bit now. Definately died and gone to heaven that dog, there are some really good people out there it warmed my heart to see that little dog on a hike with its lovely mutt mate Looked like a cairn, come terrier with a long tail and curly slightly wirey grey fur super dog - and a family BC mix!! what a bunch!! went on home with a big smile on my face.

That's why I support many tears all day long. Giving a dog which has had many litters and probably never seen daylight , the gift of life with caring families.
Well done Sylvia who runs it , I say she should have a medal. Her whole life is about saving ex breeding dogs , and others that come along aswell. If only there were more like her.

Totally agree.  I've had the pleasure of meeting some very special people, through doing homechecks & its so heartwarming to hear how these poor dogs can blossom and learn to live a normal, happy life. They so deserve this chance & i so admire their hard work at MT.

Unfortunately they wont rehome to homes with entire dogs, I was looking for a rescue to compete in agility and bikejoring, I quite often saw dogs on many tears website which would have been suitable but I also have two entire dogs who I have no reason to neuter, therefore I wouldnt be classed as suitable to adopt a many tears dog.  Shame really, I can understand why they have rules, but to have a blanket rule like that must rule out alot of homes.

Which, as the dogs they rehome are all neutered, is a meaningless rule anyway. As you say, it rules out a lot of otherwise excellent forever homes.

Maybe as some dogs are from pounds both in Wales and Ireland as well as breeding bitches from puppy farms, is it not possible that MT cannot always tell if a bitch has been spayed? Is it possible due to this that all are not spayed before rehomming and therefore they make that ruling in case one has slipped through the net and is later mated (unintentionally) with the new homes unneutered male dog? Just a thought.

They won't rehome to you if you only have entire bitches either. How is a bitch (spayed or not) or a castrated dog (easy to tell) going to breed with your bitches?

Im assuming that they are just anti breeding (with good reason no doubt considering the amount of puppy farm bitches they rescue) and they just dont want to home dogs to anyone who may be considering using their other dogs for breeding purposes.

But as I said, sad to have a blanket ban, surely they can judge via homechecks who is going to be a good responsible owner and who isnt.

Of course the homechecker knows a suitable, good home etc but the policies are not decided by the homecheckers.  Personally, i think there are certain situations where it shouldn't matter if the resident dog/bitch isn't neutered. 

Such as anyone who shows and would like to give a good, safe, caring, permanent home to a less fortunate member of their own breed.

the other blanket rule they seem to have is that they won't rehome to Army homes.Again in some circumstances this might not be appropriate but in others perfect! We were looking for a friend for our dog but we were told not to even bother applying ( by MT themselves). The reason being that with the possibility of us being posted every 2 years or so it would not be fair on the dogs!

So the fact that we move as a family, that my husband can take dogs into work & that our dog is never left by himself ( because we are always there, not because he can't be left alone), I am a houswife & we have years of experiance counts for nothing!Such a shame really.
