Thanks all the same but I don't drink.

lol !

Am I missing something/being really dense, but what has the offer of a lift to a show to do with Drink?
Barbara and the Grey Curly Tails.

Crate as in crate of wine / beer im guessing
Hit goal weight back in May .... could still do with losing a bit more though !!
I think I over step the mark with trying to be funny at times. I'll keep my humour for a more appropriate page. Apologies.

I thought you were very clever with that one mind it took a couple of seconds to get it
Thanks Chris, someone else with a sense of humour, that's good

I just didn't get it, but then when I was told the Jethro sketch about replacing the cockerel it took me ages to get it
Barbara and the Grey Curly Tails.
There you go, you're lovely when you smile, mind you I prefer you when you're all masterful

Who's Jethro?

Your not from the South West are you? Jethro is a Comic, I believe from Devon. He has a rather broad accent (my OH takes him off well), one of his favourite sayings seems to be "what happened was".
Anyway back to the sketch about the cockerel./
Man runs a cockerel over. He stops by the Farmer and apologises. Tells him, I'd like to
replace the Cockerel. Yokel farmer says pointing down the road, chicken house is just down there,
do as many as you can.

lol I think you need a dirty mind like mine to get that one straight away

I must have a dirty mind too then .........

Did you have a good day Team Barbelka - I'll ask beenass no one else did

Yes both girls won their classes, Mum Lexi had not been to a show since January, and was only 4 months since having pups (normally their coats haven't come back enough for 6 months).
It was first show for Mum as a Veteran and she was second in Veteran stakes too, so winning £20 back of our £58 entry fee, or contirbuting to the £40 Diesel.
Daughter Inka was Reserve Best Bitch /RCC. Yep 4 pieces of cardboard for £98 cost (less the £20 prize money).
Barbara and the Grey Curly Tails.
Very well done you
But of course you don't do it for the money. Or do you? Forgive my ignorance but I know nothing about dog showing at all. Is there money to be made from it? or do you compete for the pleasure and for hopefully getting a result for all your hard work putting into your dogs.
Just thought as well that showing winning (rosettes - not sure of the prize) to future puppy purchasers is your best asset if you like (would I be wrong).

Certainly in my breed the wins of the parents or how difficult it was to achieve the litter (travelling abroad, importing etc) does not reflect in the price of puppies, though puppy farmers make money off the back of the pedigree label as they charge the same without the costs.
Many people outside of showing assume that money is won at shows, whereas there are rarely any prizes except in these sponsored classes, and then the amounts are pretty modest or often just product vouchers against the sponsors products.
At the championship shows mostly you only win a cardboard top winners may get a Rosette, so it's the prestige. It is becoming an increasingly expensive hobby.

Thanks. If you don't ask........

Yikees LOL,Jethro is from St Buyran,Cornwall!!!!!
I know lots of Jethro Jokes(to rude for here!!)
Named my Canadian Eskimo Dog after Jethros best mate - Denzil Penberthy.
Properly trained,a man can be a dogs best friend.

See as a London transplant to my mothers native Bristol I can be forgiven for not knowing the difference between Devon and Cornish accents, LOL
Now I always thought it was Denzil Penworthy.
Anyway we took poor Sam's Post way off topic.
I think this board for lifts is very useful, but I think offering to share needs to be done before entries close, as I am sure there are some people who would have jumped at the chance of sharing , and probably didn't enter.

I know and I've already apologized, what do you want woman blood, may be a punishment - handcuffs and whip may be? as long as you're dishing out the punishment Barbara I don't mind baby.....
Properly trained,a man can be a dogs best friend.

That sounds like a whole 'nother forum, LOL
Barbara and the Grey Curly Tails.
I consider myself to be a little like a fiesty terrier - once I get the bit between my teeth I don't let go, however I'd say you're more like a softy Labrador, would drop anything (not literally) for a tickle on the tum. Therefore if you want this little party for two to end you need to stop pressing the reply button.

LOL

Thanks sam for making such a wonderful offer to us...
