Hi i know nothing about this breed , but someone i know has one that is only 10 weeks old and as far as i know they bought it at only 6 weeks old , had it now for 4 weeks and have decided they dont like it doing number 1's and 2's around the house and want to sell him for £500( both owners are teenagers living in a flat and have just found out they are also expecting a baby )

I'm posting here mainly to see if anyone knows the best way for me to try re home the poor little guy because i dont think he is being given a fair chance , but i do know if i cant help home him then god knows where he will end up .

Anyone point me in the right direction ........... Admins no idea if i have posted anything that i should not have , so feel free to correct me ........... just trying to help the little guy

First point of contact - back to the breeder....

Agree the breeder should be asked to take it back, but they should not expect to get any money back as the breeder will have to sort out another home for it.

Sad to hear they are worried about pees and poos - wonder when the baby will be up for sale

I believe they will want to sell this little guy , and to be honest when they got him from the breeder they were told  the pup was 8 weeks old and ready to leave , but when taken to the vet 's they put the pups age at 6 weeks

Not sure I'd ever trust a vet to accurately guess a dog's age.
Marianne. Dogs are not our whole lives, there are cats too!

As a matter of interest what is a Johnson American Bulldog not a breed I am sure must be some sort of cross breed possibly even a pretend pit bull, not really worth anything unless you or they can find someone who is willing to pay for it and then I would be worried about what it was wanted for.

I'd say that the AMB is a pretty recognisable type- in the way a Patterdale might be to us, both in its smooth and slape coat incarnations.

I believe there are three types of AMB: the classic, the Johnson and the Scott.

Anyhow, that is rather by the by as the story of this particular pup appals me and for a type of dog that can be unreliable with other dogs, is highly territorial, predatory and strong- willed, to be removed from its mother and siblings so early is worrying, with regard to its canine socialization. The fact that this pup should have ended up with such unsuitable owners surprises me not one bit! I hope that whoever ends up with it has a clear understanding of the type- rather more powerful than a pit bull.

Thanks it was the affix that threw me I thought an AB was an AB.

It is appalling I agree but trying to sell him is almost bound to mean he will end up in the wrong hands, who in their right mind buys a dog like an AB if they do not have experience and are expecting a baby. Of course it pees and poos it is only a baby but it will be clean a lot quicker than the coming baby.

To be honest I cant imagine the breeder ,and i use the term loosely, would help if they let the puppy go at such a young age !!!
