Hi all,

As I am thinking of breeding from Sasha, Feb time I would like to take out some breeder insurance, could any of you recommend a company I have quotes from DBI and Pet Plan, are there any others I should consider? I need to get this sorted smartish as I know there is a six month clause in most policys and I would be very close to that if she Whelped April/May.
Thanks in advance
Kim

Hi Kim

I have used Pet Plan "Show Breeder Policy" for years, OK they aren't the cheapest, but their service I have found is second to none. Prompt settlements, they even settle direct with your vet. Easy claim forms to fill in, mostly by the vet, and normally they have settled you're claim within 14 days.

I don't think you'll be disapointed with their cover, and their puppy cover note policies are good to, plus they cover a dog for life, not like some policies that only cover a condition for 12 months. I have a Hip dysplastic Sharpei, "castrated" he hasn't any form of Hip joint/ sockets at all, just tendons & ligaments to hold him together, and Pet Plan have and never once denighed Josh his treatment, he will be 4 this coming month and they have paid out £1000's to help him. So I for one can not complain about this company and there policies.
Glad I could be of help.

Hi Briedog
My Showbreeder policy, yes, does cover whelping costs upto £500.00 with the excess being £85.00 (Id check up you're excess if I were you, unless it goes on Postcode areas) :-( and you are quite correct you are excempt for the first 24 weeks.

Thanks, I want to get cover now as I was aware of the 24 weeks thing, I can understand this, they don't want people to cover just for the whelping period.

You have all been great and am going now to call them

Regards
Kim
