Hi everyone,

I currently have some puppies for sale, could you please recommend some reputable mags that I can advertise in, I have already posted an ad in Dogs Today.

Thankyou
Donna

You could do worse than take out the advanced membership of Champdogs and use our litter database :-)

As a matter of interest what is the current cost of an ad in Dogs Today and what do you get for your money ?

Regarding Dogs Today, providing all the necessary health screening tests have been done and you provide the results, and you give lifelong help and advice, and will take back anything you breed should problems occur, you are not a puppy farmer and own the bitch, then you get the add for free. You get a GB (good breeder) by your name, if you dock but otherwise have good conditions you get OGB.There is a form in the mag which you fill in and sign to confirm your details. However, you don't have a visit from them or anything, they ask should things not seem correct to a visitor, the visitor reports this to the magazine. It used to be £20 for a months advert, if you didnt fit their criteria.

Other good places are Dogs Monthly magazine, your local vet and animal feed/pet shop outlets, you can also try your local paper but you will get a lot of 'how much do you want' type calls, and 'I'll have to speak to my partner' type calls, which you will not get a sale from! But, if you can put up with dealing with these you could find a good, local home. You could also try the dog press, Our Dogs and Dog World. here are also various internet sites to sell puppies, check out the rear of Our Dogs for web addresses. Or, put 'puppies for sale' in your brouser. If you like, I can search for a couple of good ones, that I'v not got the address for at this moment--If thats OK with the board admin?

hi Admin,

As I am a member of the Eukanuba breeders club, I got the ad for free - they just state that I have puppies for sale under the breed and give my phone number.

I have actually applied for advanced membership on your site on a 30 day free trial but when I put the pups on I got a message stating that I must pay first but where do I send the cheque to ? and I haven't yet received my affix from the KC - could take another 3 months and I can't advertise the pups on this site without an affix so I'm a bit stuck at the moment as the pups are now ready for new homes.

I think it's a great site and would like to take the advanced menbership. Could you send me an address to post the cheque to please.

I have had a few good homes come from local adverts, but had the same silly callers mentioned above. Next time I advertised I stated the price, and the fact that the parents were health screened, and pups available to suitable people only, and guess what, I got no silly calls. I have sold to 4 lovely homes in this way over the years, not many but lovely homes.
Barbara and the Grey Curly Tails.
