This is to transort a dog (bullmastiff) on an aircraft.
Sharon - I don't know if you have found one yet but I have a clipper 7 - the largest you get and it should be more than enough for a bullmastiff. It has been used 4 times on short flights to Belfast. I bought it for my clumber but it is too big for her and I have bought a smaller one.

Have just posted request for large crate and then saw your ad. Suppose you have now found a home for yours. If not I need it for a rottie..... Jan

Youre in luck - The crate is still here! It is a clipper 7 - one of the airline approved plastic types - and the biggest in the range and certainly big enough for a Rottie.
Thinking delivery - where are you? I live in Maidenhead, Berkshire

Thanks for reply. I am Stratford upon Avon so M40 to Maidenhead turn is no problem.
Can I get picky now.... would this carrier fit into a car. I have no idea about them, have never used crates etc., He is going to have to travel about in someone elses civic and after his exercise he has the ability to shake and spread himself over large areas!
Oh and an important point I suppose, how much?

The Crate was originally bought from Stock Nutrition - cost £89. It has been used 4 times and I would like £40 for it.
Would it fit in a civic? Good question - how big is the tailgate space and do you intend to put the back seats down?
As a guide it fits in my astra estate. Perhaps your friend would also consider a different car - I have been thinking of changing mine to something bigger!
Dimensions of the crate are 41½ long x 29¼ wide x 31" high

Caroline,
Thanks so much for info. If it fits I would love to buy it from you. I will do some measuring tomorrow!
I would very much like a big estate, however we have never needed to transport dogs except to vets, as we live in the middle of the country and dont show etc. By the way, have always had a cocker with the rotties until about 8 years ago. Admired Clumbers for years, love dogs of substance. Will get back to you after the job with the tape measure tomorrow.
Thanks again, Jan

Caroline,
Oh dear I am so sorry, there is a piece of moulding round the edge of the tailgate which would stop the whole thing sliding in. The interior would take the wretched thing to perfection but it wouldn't go past the moulding. It must be all of half an inch out.
I am really very disappointed, thank you so much for communicating with me, hope you find a home for it soon. I expect I shall end up paying full price, just for a couple of weeks use.
All the best, Jan

Hi,
If you put the back seats down, and erect the crate in the car, then it would fit. Slide it in place behing the moulding, ande there you are. Then put seeats back up!
You would have to check though that the door on the crate is in the long side, and that it will clear the tailgate lip when you are opening it!

Thanks for that, at least one of us knows what we are talking about. I was quite unaware that this particular type folded up! When the car appears tonight I will measure again. Sound promising.

This is not a folding crate as suggested but a plastic one that does comes in 2 halves. It would be possible to put it together in the car but you will need at least 1.5 inch clearance above the height of the crate to do it. Also don't forget it is end opening.

Thanks Caroline, what an ongoing saga. I had a message telling me it was a folding contraption. It wasn'nt until I had replied to it that I realized it was from someone else! (Im not very good at these forums).
My husband has even gone to the trouble of getting a large crate from a local shop which is returnable. Its not at big as yours and certainly he wouldn't be able to stay in it for long, he couldn't lie down properly.
Bare with me, I am on the case. Goodness I wish we had never sold the house.

Jan I got an excellent value crate from Moncaster wire products. It is a two door type, and is 48 long by 28 wide by 20 high (inches) and was very reasonable costing less than I paid for a 36 x 24 x 27 one a few years earlier with just one door.
Advantage to double doors is it can be used either way, so may fit with one of the back seats down better, or jsut might fitt long ways across if your lucky.
I paid under £70 for the big one in a black powder finish. The gold finished electroplated ones are usually a bit dearer.

Thanks to whoever replied, but the bully is home in a new crate bought at a very good price - Ta Phil
