Can anybody let me know if you normally get either Horse and Hounds or Farmers weekly from Tescos, whether over the last few weeks they have not had them on the shelves ? I am just interested because I have heard that they are not stocking them at the moment.

Thanks

Interesting.

Our local Tescos have withdrawn sale of both these publications.

I am finding out the reason why. I haven't had if officially verified but will let you know the reason.

Seems strange as Stow-on the Wold is in the heart of the Cotswolds and these two publications are in the right geographic location to sell.

I work for Tesco and I can tell you stock will vary from store to store depending on the saleability of an item.If you find a product or indeed a magazine has been withdrawn from sale then it will have been done for several reasons.these are as follows
1.Item has been discontinued by manafacturer
2.Item has been discontinued by Tesco
3.Item is no longer deemed a good seller
4.Item has been withdrawn from sale(usually health, saftey, political reasons)

Any item you want and can't find go to customer service desk and ask them to do a customer order for you. They have to adhere to customer requests and if they try and fob you off ask to speak to the cusomer services manager
Hope this helps

Hi Lorraine

Thanks for that.

I am interested in point 4, political reasons.

What are deemed as political reasons ?

We are still trying to find out the reason but have not got to the bottom of it yet.

Thanks

"Mein Kampf" type o' book perhaps??? That might qualify under political  It's illegal here in Germany and the base bookstore won't stock it either for respect or as censorship: depending on whose opinion you ask :-)

Just really getting at if the Manager deemed his own political view against something could he take the publications off himself??
