I posted a question about my cocker, Mauser's eye a while ago - he had a stye right by the tear duct. I took him to the vets who gave him antibiotics and fucithalmic cream and told me to bring him back in two weeks, and if nothing had happened to it, because of its location, rubbing his eyeball, he would then take him in and remove it. Well - two weeks on and went to the vets last night, of course it was still there, my lovely vet looked at it, and said he'd leave it until anything else came up that needed doing at any time and would get rid of it then, unless it caused any problems, and as his booster is due in a couple of week, he have another look at it then - actually mean my vet is lovely, wasn't being nasty :-) Anyway - a really weird thing happened - we got home, and a couple of hours later, I had a look at his stye and it had disppeared confused really just vanished ! Now, I was with my vet all the time, holding Maumau's head while he looked at it, and he did not actually touch it once, he just looked, and it was there when we left the vets! Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, glad the pesky things gone:) but where ........ :-)julie

Julie - it's likely to have burst - if you can't see a hole - then it may have burst internally - keep an eye(excuse the pun) on it to ensure no further infection develops.

thanks pam - I will keep an eye on it, have had a good look and I can see a tiny little hole so youre right it must of burst (didn't know they did that!) will keep checking in case of any infection etc, I've got some fucithalmic cream left, perhaps I should carry on using it for a couple of days or so? thanks again :-) julie.
