True, true, but it would make it even more weirder if I was to list the other pets I currently own!!! :P

Okay, here goes, one rabbit, two chickens, a cockatiel, a toad, three cats, two greyhounds, a snake, a pirhana, a tarantula, a leopard gecko, a chinchilla, two gerbils and a whole bunch of coldwater fish!!!!!! We've got a bit of a zoo going on :-)

Has the greyhound ever met the rabbit????????

Is this a serious question Sam or is there a "punch line" ....lol

Ah, I've just got nothing better to do than compile a zoo to brood over! *sniff" I have no life *sob* (!) ;-)

Hee hee hee, believe it or not, the greyhounds ignore the rabbit just like they ignore the chickens. The rabbit and the chickens roam the garden all day, my dogs go out and just pretend they're not there! They ignore the cats too, except for one which the youngest of my dogs likes to carry around like a pup, and lets it suckle off her neck. Speaking of which, does anyone know if this is normal???

Why do you want to rear a litter of pet quality greyhounds bearing in mind some 20,000 greyhounds are destroyed or abandoned each year?

Seriously why not get a rescued Greyhound. You know already how lovely the breed are. We have an old retired racer living with us now and you couldn't wish for a better dog. It's nice of course to have pups but each one of those pups you have could take away a possible home from an adult Greyhound. I don't mean to offend but there just isn't enough homes for Greyhounds.

I must agree, if you only want to produce pet quality, then there are all the ones in rescue that will fit the bill very well, I could understand you wanting to breed, if you wanted to show, and had a show quality bitch, as the show greyhound is rather different.

We already have two ex-racers. And I totally agree about the homes part. You will not believe how many people have had a go at me about that. But as I said, it was just an idea that I was researching, a pipe dream if you will! My two ex racers are lovely girlies (one two, and one four) so maybe a male would be a great idea! Thanks!

Fantastic that you have two retired racers. We have one and they are brilliant dogs aren't they? Wishing you the best of luck in finding another suitable one. Keep us informed. Best Wishes.
