Does anyone out there breed Cockers of a working strain? My husband is desperate for a pup, but breeders of this type seem to be few and far between. Thank You!

Hi

I suggest you contact Mrs Rhodes who is secretary of the Field Trial Section of the Cocker Spaniel Club & is sure to be able to put you in touch with breeders of working Cockers (there are actually quite a few breeders of working type Cockers so I don't think your husband will have too much trouble finding a suitable pup!) Mrs Rhodes' tel no is 01273 890701

Regards

Jane

There are plenty of working cockers around although not in the numbers of springers. They tend to have a slightly less manic nature than the springer (although I'm sure the springer people will not agree to that! :-)) Hope you find what you are looking for.

All the working cockers that I know are totally crazy ! I must say that I love to watch them work though, even if I do have to go and lay down in a dark room afterwards ..lol

Oh well, with a gsp, two labs, two border terriers and a gsd one more crazy dog won't make that much difference will it? lol,
