Has anyone else noticed a drop in enquires coming through to them via the champdogs site? We used to get a lot of enquiries through Champdogs about our dogs and have found some wonderfull homes for our puppies. But I became suspicous as to why suddenly the enquiries seemed to have almost stopped. So this evening I ran a search through 3 different popular search engines for "PUPPIES FOR SALE". The Champdogs site was nowhere to be seen in the results, or at least not within the first 100 results. This never used to be the case, as when I first went with Champdogs it always appeared highly in search results and that was the reason I decided to subscribe and setup a site on here. If nobody can find the site through general search words like "puppies for sale" then there's no point in advertising on here. Something has changed. PLEASE can we have back the service we had before!?!?!?!
Best, Nigel

I find the site comes up a lot in all manner of doggy searches I do, often on topics. Was quite stunned to find my own posts on Sales Contracts, when searching for something.
Certainly if you put in dog breed info then it comes up, well at least does when you put my breed.

Hi there,
I get enquiries day in and day out and I know my fellow westie people do .
This is just a guess but I have seen dogs come in and out of fashion ( Sorry as I know it is terrible) and I sometimes wonder if this has any influence.
I know that sounds awful but hopefully some of you will notice that some breeds seem to be in demand then another. Last month it was Choc Labs, this month lots of westie enquires.
It could be breeding patterns, I am just guessing.
Has your site changed at all??

I have never had an enquiry :D
Did get one through another canine site. Had to write back as politely as possible to a pregnant lady who wanted to get a new puppy or maybe two in the same month her first baby was due!!!

Brainless,
If I enquire to you will that count

Ooh Pam, I would send you to test drive some first! If you were interested in these fuzz balls you would be best to prepare by taking apart a pillow full of polyester filling and spreading it over your house! Also get used to finding hairs in your cooking and drinks.
Good side is they make excellent foot muffs and bed warmers, and have this mistaken idea that they are lap dogs!

Thanks for all your replies. I too find the site appears in search results, for example if I enter any of my dogs names or my affix, then all sorts of things appear through Champdogs which is great. But my point is that when your pet person wants to buy a puppy or find information on a breed and they enter a very general search criteria like "Westie pups for sale" (and that's not my breed by the way), the champdogs site still doesn't appear highly in the results. This has definately changed because it did used to appear very highly in the results. I know this because it's how I found the site to start with. I think it's a wonderfull site if someone already knows about it, but I think it's hard to find if you dont enter specific topics / names / affixes / etc. Untill about a month ago we had loads of general enquiries through Champdogs when we didn't even have any litters, just people wanting to know about the breeds. But it's stopped, and we keep three breeds, so I wouldn't put it all down to breed fashions changing. I'll reserve judgement and wait to see how long before I get my next enquiry.

Hiya
I don't know if this will be relevant but ......
We only found the champdog site through looking for information about our chosen breed ,this was the site that popped up most and we were able to see who had puppies available and litters due etc

Ive had loads of phone calls this past 3 weeks for people looking for westie puppies, not surprising getting nearer to Xmas, they are so surprised when I tell them that they will be lucky to find a pup from a reputable breeder at Xmas. Not many pups about just now either, Plenty from Puppy farms though !!!!!!! Know of a few litters waiting to be born.

Did you all know that anyone who mentions that they have pups sometimes available on the web (anywhere)gets investigated by the Inland Revenue. It happened to me and I got investigated and had to prove that I was not running a business over the web. My name was Oscars Dog Food four years ago to help people go to the right people for golden retriver puppies and not the puppy farms. At the time I didn't have a computer and Oscar's had only put my name and address on their site for information. But it didn't make any difference it caused me a lot of problems. I had only had one litter in three years.
Eventually the accepted my what I said.

Hi,
It's no different to advertising a litter in a local newspaper, the same thing can happen. I wish we didn't have to work to SUPPORT our dogs and their showing!! LOL.
