Hi All,
No I do not have a Christmas Card fixation, but does anyone else think there are some really lovely cards about this year.
I can't remember a year when I have oohed and aahed so much. I am a really sad person.

Good morning Anne - There are some absolutely lovely cards about this year - both my sons get cards from all their classmates and they seem to pick out all the doggy ones out of their packs, so we stick them all around the picture rails in the lounge, we have lots of doggy faces looking out as us!!
My Mother in Law came to visit yesterday - she lives in London. The kids had a whale of a time!
(Ididn't:( ) But I'm glad she came for them:) She always buys the boys super cards - I must agree with you the standard of christmas cards have definitely gone up - Gone are the days of the 'close up' of the Christmas Bauble!!
I'm off to town tomorrow to buy one for my hubby - I always get him a special one! and I love looking at all the cards in the shops.
The kids make ours (they are so cute). Last year , Harry (8) and Beauty Glitter AKA Alfie (5) made one out of green scouring pads (I know it sounds odd) but they cut them into christmas tree shapes and stuck sticker stars on for decorations and glued them onto card and sprinkled glitter (Alfie did that bit) all over them! (awwwww!)

Don't think green scouring pads sound odd at all sounds a good idea. I was always looking for that sort of idea for crafts when I was Kids' Librarian. It had to be something I could do:-D I'm a bit artistically challenged .
Used to bake Christmas Biscuits, I can cook, gave kids coloured icing and edible decorations and let them rip. The mess was indescribable but they loved it, even local little hard men came and had a ball

How sad am I? I don't have any children and I made my own!! :D well my boyfriend did (bit of a wiz on the computer) Suitably festive pic of the dogs, a bit of fancy lettering and hey presto, xmas cards coming out of the printer!! You can get special card for the printer, its scored so it folds nicely and everything!! must have too much time on my hands! :rolleyes: Emma

Hi Anne, I have to admit they are lovely, proper cards not just folded up bits of paper! :D Theres no way I could make them though, I can get the internet going and thats about it! :rolleyes: So I supose the blokes do come in handy sometimes!! TTFN Emma

I agree, Gillian, making your own cards shows that you've really put some thought and effort into making Christmas special for others. If I had more time I would love to do this for all my family and friends.

One thing I do like about getting Christmas cards is that a lot of people I no longer see, send me lovely chatty letters which keeps me up to date with what's going on in their lives. Thing is I have to do the same for them once I get started I'm OK but it's surprising how much time it all takes ! Hopefully worth it, though

I put my Christmas Cards on the Wooden posts on the Stairs(can't think what their called)and tie bows of ribbon between them.
