Starting off i fed my Malamute 3 times a day, 1/2 cup of Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy with a tablespoon of plain unflavoured yogurt, at midday another 1/2 cup of Euk plus a few bits of carrots and such and at night i gave her a chicken wing and neck. Ideally you should feed your new pup exactly what and when your friends have fed it as not to disrupt it with a whole lot of changes. If you decide to change his/her feed do it gradualy over a period of around 2 weeks.

as long as you dont give your new pup chocolate, pizza, bits of onions or anything else that isnt good for it it should survive
Im not really sure about how much to feed your beagle pup, ive only ever had large breed dogs, however im sure everyone here with smaller breeds will be alot of help
I just reccomend feeding what, how much and when your friends feed it, if you feel it needs more as it gets older then feed it a little bit more. But take it to the vet, he/she will give you great advise on feeding, when to add more, how to tell if your pup is gaining weight right, and anything else you may need to know, if you have questions and concerns ask your vet! make the best out of your appointment and dont leave till you find out everything you need to know
IMO the best person to tell you what is right is your vet opposed to people on an internet forum who cant see your dog and give you a definate answer you can trust. Definatly not trying to discourage you from asking Q's though! ask away we will help as much as we can!
I'm looking forward to seeing how your new pup is going, please, keep us updated!
