Just rescued a 15 month shar pei but unsure what to feed. Previous owners fed Pedigree complete(for simplicity i think) but i don't think this is working. I've heard shar pei's need a lower protein diet (20%) but what else would benefit them? Have heard they do well on a lamb and rice diet. Am tempted to try either James well Beloved or Nutro. Any ides? thanks

Get in touch with as many Shar Pei breeders as you can to find out what they feed them on. You are correct about the protein issue - my parents shar pei eventually died as a result of them not knowing - that being said he did live to 10 yrs which is pretty good for the breed I believe.

Beautiful dogs hope yours comes on okay.

I use Professional Choice "Special Recipe" for my Sharpei's, Protein value of 22%, ( Made in the Midlands & will deliver to your door). I have great results with this food and use their puppy food too. If you need further details, I can email you.
I used to use James Wellbeloved Lamb & Rice & their Turkey & Rice but have found Pro choice better on my dogs.
