can anyone tell me how you get rid of the edit box when replying?

If you mean the marker saying edit at the top of the box, ignore it. Only the poster sees that, nobody else. If you should want to edit one of your posts,you can click on that, make your changes, then click change.

I would think so that the post makes sense maybe ? Someone posted earlier to ask about golden labradors ...I replied to ask which ..once they clarified I changed my post but put a note on to say so ..otherwise it wouldnt have made much sense

I'm sure admin don't mean if you edit it straight away for spelling mistakes but if you change the content at all it can make a reply to it seem strange :-)
