Does anyone know what I can use to get rid of the greasy marks left on the wall by Blu-tak? I've tried nail-polish remover and surgical spirit so far - no joy :-(

My son's wall is spottier than the dogs!

I seem to remember hearing about rubbing grease marks on walls with dry bread, but I can't say I've tried it!

Try windex with amonia (sp), if that doesn't work try vim (bathroom vim) we have used this just sprayed it on, let stand for a couple and wipe off. Worked like a charm for us.

ttfn :-)

Try washing up liquid

Bread....no go (but the dogs liked it!)
Washing-up liquid - no.
Jif bathroom cleaner - some effect, but not brilliant.

Now my problem is that I've scrubbed so hard the paint is coming off in these places, so I'll have to repaint anyway..... :-( I can't find the original tin in the garage.... oh b****r!

Looking on the bright side, at least his room smells clean! :-)

try hair spray, the solvent in it also removes biro.

Just tried that Jane....no luck, though. :-( (His room now smells like a hairdresser's; lucky he's out tonight!) :-)

Is this someone at the Kennel Club asking this question after the Spanish Water Dog owners took down their pictures from the Discover Dogs stand in London?:-)

It was a nightmare, we put the stand up on the Friday and by the Sunday the pictures had slid down and the blue tac was like one long sticky mess, yuk.

No, this is just me, a mum, trying to redecorate a boy's bedroom!!! Unsuccessfully, unless you like spotted paintwork. :-(

Do you know what , this really surprises me ..wayyyyyyy back in the 80s , my kids had alsorts of things stuck up on their bedroom walls , posters , pictures etc etc. When we were going to move , I took them all down and wanted to paint the room ....we had one heck of a job because of all the little spots everywhere , left by the blu-tack.

Thats why I am surprised ...in 20 years , hasn't ANYONE put a warning on the packet? I have to confess that I banned the stuff in my house after that incident ...mine kids have to use drawing pins or nothing now :-)

must admit Mel, we had the same problem but it was ME that had the posters all over the wall, and Mum that was tearing her hair out :p Oh how time moves on....but now it's my turn and I decided not to go through all that so the kids have cork boards on the wall to make a big noticeboard and they use pins to put up whatever they like :-)
