We are in the process of moving the forum to an alternative provider.

Could all forum members now please use the following address to access the Champdogs forum:

www.champdogsforum.co.uk

You will need to login again the first time you use this new address. Once you have done that the forum should function exactly as normal.

Thank you.

It now takes up the whole screen....much wider than before...much more difficult to read :-(

Click on the forum page, hold the Control Key (on your keyboard) down and scroll with your mouse until the page becomes the size you are comfortable with. HTH

Sorry, Admin, but I can't get that to do anything! I know I'm a total dunce when it comes to computers, but it's still full screen-width, and it won't play the game!

Hi Admin

I didn't know you could alter the font size like that. Thanks, that's really useful.

No, I still can't alter the size of the message board....unless I go back to the old address. Which is the only place I can find the 2 front "pages" with the Guided Search links etc. The new address takes me straight to the message board...all across the screen...it's making my eyes water....HELP!!!

Hi Admin

Am I correct in saying that when we are on the new forum address the other functions aren't available - ie Guided Search etc to find lists of Breeders.

Dessie :D :D

It looks like that to me too Dessie :-(

Could they still be working on this new one, maybe thats why we can't do those confused

Guys when you log in at http://www.champdogsforum.co.uk do you go straight to the Message Board or can you see the welcome page and master menu ??

I go straight to the Message Board.

If you want to go to the welcome page ..just log on to the new address and then click on HOME at the top of the page :-)

I think that it is only the Forum thats new and nothing else

By Dessie [gb] Date 05.02.03 15:38 GMT
Yes but when you click on Home it takes you to Champdogs.co.uk ?? Is it ok to use this for breed searches etc and post on the champdogsforum.co.uk ??

Dessie :-( :-(
By Admin (Administrator) Date 05.02.03 15:43 GMT
YES & YES. It is ONLY the forum URL that has changed :-)
By LynnT Date 05.02.03 15:55 GMT
Since I changed the URL, when I open the forum it hasn't updated and cleared out the posts I've read. When I'd been reading for a while I used to be able to click out to the "welcome to the message board" page and that would update everything when I went back in. I can't do that now. It's going to take a month of Sundays to read everything if this is the case. Is this an on-going process at the moment?

The way to clear the read page is to click on help, then click on the4 URL in the middle of the paragraph, then click active topice or new posts, and there you are!!!

Hi Lynn

I think I understand what you mean

use this http://www.champdogsforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/board/forum.pl and add it to your favourites;) each time you click on there to go back in it marks all read posts as read :D

SaraW
By SaraW [gb] Date 05.02.03 17:17 GMT
another way to get to the page with the guided search etc etc is to click on the Champdogs logo at the bottom of the page :D

By Jeangenie (*****) [gb] Date 05.02.03 15:27 GMT
Yeah, I go straight to the Message Board too, BUT (hurrah) when I went "Home" I got back to the Welcome Page & Master Menu AND it was narrow again! I HATE wide-screen mad (even wide-screen TV)

After playing about for ages I have sussed it I THINK!!!.

I went into the new address and got straight to the Forum, so pressed home button which took me to the main page (narrow), then I saved it in my favourites.

Hopefully this will work.

By LynnT Date 06.02.03 15:46 GMT
Hi Alex, try SaraW's tip for me above. It seems to be working going through that way. The number of replies just kept increasing and not updating but they have now!
Cheers Sara:D :D

Edited: well, I thought it was working but it doesn't seem to be now.....:-(
By SaraW [gb] Date 06.02.03 18:50 GMT
Hi Lynn

What you need to do is this

Open your favourites so they show listed down the side of the page

RIGHT click on the one to this forum and then click properties - click on the tab that shows what address your favourites in using and edit it so it reads exactly as http://www.champdogsforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/board/forum.pl - you may find it says show at the end but delete this so it reads exactly as I've listed ;-)

see if that works for you :D
By LynnT Date 07.02.03 17:40 GMT
Yay!:D Thanks Sara - you're brilliant!:D

Happy to help Lynn :D

Not so sure about the brilliant - I just think it is a sign of spending too long on the computer and finding out little tricks lol ;-)
By Jeangenie (*****) [gb] Date 06.02.03 16:55 GMT
How I do it is to go "Home", then through the choices to the forum, then "New Posts" as before. That gets rid of the old posts. Then, if you want it wide again, go back to the new address. Long-winded :-( but it seems to work. I still think I miss stuff sometimes, though :-(

Just click on Help, then in the page that comes up click on the link in the first para. then when you go into Active Topics or New Posts the old ones will be read.
