getting heartily sick of CD board telling me that there are x number of new messages when in fact I have read them...sometimes days ago! Anyone know how to stop this? (Apart from not visiting CD of course!)

Do you use Active Topics to look at the new posts sam?

I dont like going through Active Topics. I dont like the way it works. : ) :-) Prefer new posts or to visit each site individually.

i always used to just go through each subject, looking at the new unread posts. Now they keep coming up as new posts but they're not! Tried active posts but its exactly the same Mel.

sam ...are you using the new forum address that Admin gave the other day?

Champdogs Forum is the new Forum address and should be in your favourites ;-)...then you can look at any of the boards ...to look elsewhere on the site just click the HOME button at the top of the Forum page OR the Champdogs logo at the bottom.

Try it and see if its any better

mel,
it was all ok UNTIL I STARTED TO USE THE NEW FORUM!!!! Now its more trouble than its worth. the only thing that seems to cure it is anitas suggestion about logging off each time, but what a hassle! :-(

Sam I was the same until I checked the Help section and it says use the following http://www.champdogsforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/board/forum.pl which is not the address admin gave the other day!

Hope that sorts you out!

If you log out after you have finished reading the messages, it will reset the "new messages". You will have to log in the next time you want to read them though.

The way I do it is to click help, then click the link in the first paragraph of the help screeen, thn click new posts and you have just the brand new ones. Always use that addy when coming back in. I usually go to hidtory in my web brouser, click on pages visited in CD, and click on the new pages or forum address.
