Please can you all help to spread the word on Billy, a red fawn whippet who was lost on his way to a new home after he fled a car accident. Jean Philpott, of J.R. Whippet Rescue is co-ordinating the search and is desperate to find him.

Here are the details:

LOST: Billy, a 2-year old male whippet. Colour red fawn. Castrated. Microchipped. Wearing collar with id and possibly with lead still attached. Last seen fleeing car accident on A5 at Wibtoft, Leceistershire on 31st August. If sighted, please ring 01304 389 359.

Jean tells me he is a lovely-natured dog and they are all very worried about him, as he hasn't been seen since the accident.
