Does anybody know where I can purchase a plastic or fibreglass whelping box. Not had much luck so far searching the net.

Hi Krys
I have a PVC whelping box and puppy run made by Snowsilk www.snowsilk.co.uk, have had it 8 years and still looks like the day I first bought it, or there is Cosykennel www.cosykennel.com
Hope this helps

They are quite easy to make and fairly inexpensive. I made one for our Wheaten - I used 18" melamine for the sides and back and 9" for the front on a ply wood base. When completed I lined the box with white plastic table cloth type material glued in place, this catered for the "Hygenic Clean" and frequent wash downs. When finished with it just flat packs away. If you want I can make out a materials required list.
Dear Art and It
I have just read your reply on relating to making a welping box. In it you say that you could give a list of the materials needed to make one.
If it is not too much trouble, would you mind please emailing me a list of the materials needed to make one as I was quoted £485 for a whelping box from snowsilk when I was at crufts yesterday.
I really would appreciate your help.
Many thanks
Charles
Hi Charles
I had a look at the Snowsilk Boxes also they are beautiful boxes but if you are like me and only use them once every other year it is a bit of a price.
I will make out the list and if the wonders of microsoft allow I will try to put together a diagram and mail it to you - I assume the AOL account is where to mail it to.
The box I made was for a wheaten terrier so you can scale the size up or down depending on the breed it has to house and the space tou have at home. I based my design on two factors one the size of my bitch lying down and the standard sizes of vet bedding! my utility room was a reasonable size so I wasn't too concerned about the overall size.
