Dear All!

A friend of mine is thinking of getting a weim [or a RR, but i think that they are aware that this is a dream!] and i said that i would ask on here about main characteristics, exercise, trainability etc. They are moving to a "country estate" (and i'm not joking!) in April with about 20 acres and stables etc. He has always had dogs growing up, she not. Neither of them work, and they have a 12 month old baby.

I also want to be able to guide them in the right direction breeder wise - expecting a litter early summer or so?

Look forward to your replies,

Alex

Contact me at home
I can tell them anything they need to know. Especially as we own four. <BG>

The Weimaraner is a dog that loves his owner more than anything in the whole wide world. He does not like being left for periods on his own. He cant be left more than 2-3 hours tops.
He is very trainable yet seems to need to be refreshed on training through out his life. To remind him who is boss. He is a stuborn dog and needs a loving but firm hand. No should always mean no.
They are good in the home as they are not messy dogs, yet they are a challenge to lots of owners.
If they are left on their own to get on with life with out the training they can be a nuisance. If left on their own all day long they will destroy your house. Make sure the puppy comes from healthy parents having the relevant health checks done. eg. Hip scores. The breeds average is 13. Minds going blank now, so just e-mail me at home if you want any further info. Or find someone local to them. It could be me, and pop over and meet the dogs. Then you can see what they are like in the flesh.
