usually I wean them on royal canin starter and then put them on pedigree advance for their new owners.
i am told that over the next 3 months advance will be discontinued. i just wondered what other people use . I prefer a food that owners can buy easily as not all have access to shows, wholesalers etc. also what other dog food companies issue puppy Packs?
Thanks

Hi Star

I use Professional choice food, for my adults and their puppy food for my litters. They do a superb FREE puppy food hamper, included is a 2.5kg bag of puppy food to. And all the new owners need to do is pick up the phone and order via the phone (freephone number) and the company will send it out the very same day via courier included in the price. They also sell chews and grooming products.

Its not expensive either and it gives great results. Here's the website addy www.profchoice.co.uk 0800 1695703

Star

Very easy to get the Pro-choice food, they just order it via the telephone :-) and they don't even have to leave the comfort of their homes to collect it as its delivered for them :D A great plus is the new owners only need to buy just one bag of anything, so no bulk purchases here LOL

Hi,

Nutro for me ........ litter were reared on Max Puppy, and were gorgeous on coat and bone. Puppy packs are £4 each, delivered FOC to your door - 2kg pack of food, nice stainless steel puppy bowl, squeaky toy and bumpf (leaflets), all in a Nutro holdall - owners loved 'em.

In my area, Nutro is sold in most, but not all, reasonable pet shops.

we have used nutro a couple of years ago but found it hard to get hold of in shropshire. we bought in bulk and they delivered but someone with one dog might not want to buy huge quantities at once. Loved the food tho (at least the dogs did:))

I know that Murphy was weaned onto Oscars and he came to us with a puppy pack.
I know that it is fairly easy to get hold of and Murphy was fine on it.

I use Oscars too, absolutley brilliant. They cater for special diets, wheat, gluten free, arthritic, elderly, junior and puppies etc. You can order for a home delivery from a local franchise, which also has an advice line. They sell other products too. see www.oscars.co.uk

Nutro have recently managed to get their food sold in a lot more shops after realising it was a problem for people to get hold of it.
I live in Devon and couldn't get it but it is now available in most of the stores here.

Hi,

Why don't you phone Nutro and ask them to send you a list of stockists, to see if the coverage is adequate? As responded earlier, I think they have improved this.

Have you thought of using the normal pedigree yellow bags if you join pedigree's breeder program they will send you a 10k bag free when you have your litter to give each new owner some to start with and it is very easily available. I have used this with my last litter and had just as good results as some of the more expensive brands I have used in the past.

Being in the breeder program also gets you a £5 voucher for every new puppy owner you register and discounts on all other foods they manufacture ie advanced, chappie, whiskers tins or complete you just pick them up from your local pick up point.
