Or you could try a child safety gate.

Feddie ..do you mean the stair/door gate type of thing? If so , you can buy one at Argos ..they dont cost very much just make sure they are wide enough for the stairs or door you need it for (they do various sizes)

I have bought one from argos it is excellent it is called a dog prevention gate £37.00 best value for money highly recomended

I looked in one of our local free ad papers and got a second hand baby gate for £3.50 - best money I've ever spent!!
