Does anyone have or know where I can find at this unseasonable time of year a set of reindeer antlers for dogs? I have a set we picked up a year or so ago at Christmas, but need another pair. Am willing to buy or borrow and return.

Thanks

Do you mean proper deer antlers? I have a very nice mounted set, (red deer, 10 points)circa 1845, found Simonsbath, taken Tarr, which could be for sale if a sensible price offered. I have never seen reindeer ones offered though, not even at Lawrences or similar sales.

In answer to the post below asking if they were real antlers I'm looking for - no, I mean the ones that you buy at Christmas for dogs to wear. I know they look silly, but we're wanting to do a special Christmas card for family overseas and I need two - one for each dog. We already have one set so we need to buy or borrow another. By the time they come out in the shops in December it will already be too late to arrange photos and then post overseas.

Okay, I'm sad arranging it this early, but.....

wow....don't I feel silly now!!??
I had no idea you could buy such things for dogs!

You might try asking at one of the pet stores -- they often have seasonal merchandise in the back. An alternative is one of those year-round Christmas stores and adapting a pair for kids to the dog. I know that I've seen one of the stores either in the Berkshire area or Stratford-on-avon. Sorry that I can't remember which!

This is very wierd - I've set it so replies are emailed to me and I can read them, but when I come back they're still not approved - so answering them is strange. To the person who suggested that perhaps the pet stores have them in the back - thank you - I shall ask around and see if any of them do. Never occurred to me they would leave it in store - I just thought everything got shipped back to a central warehouse or something.

Thanks bunches!! In the meantime if anyone has a spare pair they want shot of please let me know.

Thanks for the offer of the human ones, but they'd be way to big - if it were a lab they would probably work out okay, but these are for whippets.

Really, thanks though:)

I have a red felt pair with green ears that I bought for myself last Christmas. Would they be any good?

So do I. Which area do you live in? If you are in the Manchester area you could use mine, but I would like them back as my Dilita loves her antlers at the Christmas party!!

Diane

Are yours the dog kind? (not the human kind?). I would seriously love to borrow them if you'd be willing - would be happy to pay postage etc... I know I can get some at Christmas but was actually hoping to do the pics of the dogs about August so the cards can be made and ready for international christmas mailing.

Please email me at chelsea76@08002go.com if you'd be willing.

They are the human kind, but they stay on my Spanish Water Dogs. I also use the red noses from red nose day.

I'bve not e-mailed you because I'm having problems with mine but yes you can borrow them.

Do they really keep the noses on?? That's sooo cool. Email me when you get a chance. In the meantime I am intending to pop into Pets at Home and see if perhaps they have some put away in the back just in case.

Thanks so much:)

I am in stitches here!!!!!
Why on earth would anyone buy themselves a pair of fake reindeer antlers??????eek
By Wendy J (****) [gb] Date 04.07.01 13:56 GMT
Um - to dress up for a Christmas party I would guess?? Why not?

And for the dogs - well the whippets look like baby reindeer in them and kids LOVE it. Made many people smile last Christmas.

9thM - I am SO sorry you must think me so rude. I really did reply to this right after your offer to say the human kind would be too big as the dog I'm using it for is a whippet - but THANK you for the offer.
