I am concerned about putting the KC numbers of my dogs on public view maybe Im just being paranoid but having the KC numbers of the Parents doesnt show that the Litter is registered wouldnt it be better to use the litter registration number?
I have heard of one case where some one got the registration Number of a stud dog then used it to register a litter which was infact sired by there own unregistered dog unless yo regularly check the breed records supplement then you wouldnt know!!

This was a point I raised earlier, I knew the potential was there but did not realise someone had actually done it - how awful!!! :-(

Let's face it there's no way that the KC could double check all signatures, so I should think it would be easy to make fraudulant (can't spell again) registrations.
My dogs aren't my whole life, but my life wouldn't be whole without them. 05/01/08 11 stone 12 lbs

Hi this has happened alot in my breed & indeed to myself. Our dog seemed to have sired litters with bitches he had never met.
I think that something should be done to stop the fraudulent use of other peoples stud dogs as it is all too easy to do once you have let someone use your dog signed the litter registration form with his KC number then they can use it willy nilly on all there bitches without you knowing anything- unless that is you get the KC supplement.
Also another scenario is when your dog has mated a bitch & they say to you she didn't have pups (but she did) & they register the pups to their own stud dog to make it look like he is breeding super puppies & bring the bitch (or sometimes a different bitch) for another mating next season!mad & do the same again so your dog hasn't had a litter registered to him but obviously if bloodtests were done the puppies would be his.
I now won't let anyone who'm i don't know use my dogs because both of these have happened to me.
Bye
Angie.
