It`s a sadness that only animal lovers can understand when we lose our pets but it`s something we all have to go thru in our different ways, it`s the price we pay for loving them but it`s a price I`d pay over again for all the pleasure they give. When the pain eases we can look back & remember them with a smiles & laughter at all the naughty & funny things they got up to.

Just want to say I understand how you`re all feeling.

I've just finished reading a novel, called "The Lovely Bones".
It's about a young girl who died in tragic circumstances, and she writes the book from her "heaven".
One thing that I loved about the book, was that she watched her dog, from above,as he was getting older, and one day.....just like The Rainbow Bridge..he came running to meet up with her, as he'd just died.

I know it was only a novel......but it fills me with hope and reassurance that one day, we will all be reunited with our lost dogs, cats, and of course, people.

Thinking of you all

My sentiments exactly. I've lost 6 dogs in my life, 3 in the past year, and I know that they won't be the last. I would love to think that one day I'll be with them all again.

Christine,

That was so lovely.

You're right...it's only us animal lovers that understand when one of our pets go.

It's not only our own pets either. For some reason, night after night, I'll sit here and read the 'Rainbow bridge' and I cry my eyes out for the people who have lost their dogs.

I've heard so many times that "Oh it's only a dog, or it's only a cat' or whatever, but thats rubbish.
For an animal lover...losing a pet is like losing a member of the family. It's heartbreaking.

Take care, hope all is well with you.

They never really leave us. My first is just as vivid in my memory as the last.

I like to think that the love I got from my former dogs carries forward toward my present dog, because if they hadn't played such special parts in my life then I wouldn't give my heart to another would I?

As my neice said the other day when her rabbit died and her Dad asked if she wanted another she said "Of course Dad, Barney would want another Rabbit to be loved by us, like he is."

For my friend

My life is yours to do with as you will
You bought me with money
But the love & care you give to me
Means I give you my all
For my time on earth is short
When measured in human years
Yet in that time a bond is forged
That eternity cannot sever
From puppy to young dog
From mature to elderly
My life passes all too quickly
Our travels are a learning curve
Our experiences together priceless
Whether I am just your pet
Or working companion
In my eyes you are all I need
We have something special
That no one can really define
For the relationship between us
It defies all logical reasoning
And that time comes
When we have to say good bye
I pray think with your head
Not with your heart
And do what needs to be done
For we will be apart only in body
For a short while I will wait for you
And keep watch from Paradise
For you will need another friend
To keep you company
So choose one from my fellows
For alone you must not be
Start over with another
And the cycle will begin again
Then when your time in done
Come join us for we will all be waiting
To cross the Rainbow Bridge
MM \O^O/ OMG Rjj(Cornish Clown)is 3 eek cool Jessie(Witch)is 2 :-) Wukee has landed ;-)
